SALE Pop'n Taisen Pazurudama Online (In Stock, JPN-PS2] US$65/each

 NCS Product Synopsis

Update: March 30, 2004
«©NCSX» A new Pazurudama puzzle game periodically thrills fans in Japan but it has long simmered under the shadow of Puyo Puyo. Similar in gameplay to that well known franchise, Pazurudama features colored spheres with faces which rain down in pods of 2. Color match the spheres in contiguous arrangements of at least three colors to fade them from the screen. Matches may be made vertically, horizontally, or at a right angle - just as long as there are three like-colors touching each other, you're good.

The wrinkle in Pazurudama comes in the form of little colored spheres which are encased in glass boxes. They're blockades in a sense but to release the spheres from their glass prisons, a normal color match must be made directly next to them. Once freed, they emerge from their containers and become game for color matching. This makes for chain combos which may clear entire screens as long as the setup is arranged properly and glassed spheres are layered appropriately with normal spheres.

The Pop 'n Music crew takes over Pazurudama duties for this year and Konami throws in an online mode where players across Japan may engage other to determine rank. Stateside players without the BBA may still play the Pazurudama game offline and compete against a neighbor, little brother or PS2 powered logic routines.

SALE Sega Ages 2500 Vol 7 Columns [In Stock, PS2-JAPAN] US$59.98

NCS Product Synopsis

Update: December 16, 2003
«©NCSX»
By ways vertically, horizontally and even diagonally, players of Columns are enjoined to match sparkling jewels in groups of three. Purple, yellow, red, green and other gems fall from the sky in two-piece chunks and one shuffles them around to create color combinations once they hit the ground. Chain combos may be created for mass points and the occasional wonder gem appears which fades every color that it touches from the screen. The Sega Ages 2500 version of Columns uses an Egyptian theme and an exploration theme along with 3-D polygon graphics to recreate the magic of the original.

Similar to all other Sega Ages releases on the PS2, a looseleaf page of notes on the history of the game is included inside the game package for inclusion in your Sega Ages binder (which was given away with Phantasy Star).

SALE New Rainbow Islands [In Stock, NDS-JPN] US$289.98

NCS Product Synopsis

Original Update: December 30, 2005
«©NCSX» Bubby and Bobby are back to conquer foes and levels with rainbow power. Whereas Bub and Bob used their legs to move around in the original Rainbow Islands, they're now encapsulated in bubbles which float around the screen. Drag them with the stylus to and fro to confront foes. Utilizing the Nintendo DS stylus, standard rainbow arches may be drawn and then dropped onto beasts while circular rainbows may be scribbled to capture enemies and dispatch them. A triangle-shaped doodle creates a temporary vortex which vacuums up foes in the local vicinity. The supply of rainbow drawing power is limited by a meter which prevents haphazard use of rainbow attacks. Bub and Bob battle little beasts as well as end level bosses across seven islands which feature four stages each within them.

NDS Coro Pata - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» Sunflower is an impish blue-haired girl who's been tasked with traipsing through 128 stages where simple objectives must be accomplished before she can gain safe passage. In the first stage, Sunflower has to walk from the right side of the screen to the left side but there are two obstacles stopping her - namely two crevices in the platforms through which she'll fall is she's not careful. To fill those crevices, help Sunflower bridge the first gap with a plank of wood which is chosen from the menu on the left side of the screen. She'll take care of the second gap when she runs across a baseball which she throws to knock a green plank down which covers the second crevice. By way of simple object manipulation and studious examination of each stage, players give Sunflower a hand in traversing simple levels as well as more complicated stages which involve multiple tiers of movement.

PSP Jigen Kairou - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Sony's Mugen Kairou was released last year on the PSP and the game featured 3D spatial manipulation of levels to create passages and new realities for the onscreen walkers. The sequel to the game titled Jigen Kairou is a 2D platform puzzle game where players hit switches to activate platforms, interact with in-game objects, and manipulate obstacles to gain passage. Similar to the original Kairou, simple line-drawings are used to represent the stages and the characters that walk and run onscreen. The main actor in the game is accompanied by "echoes" which are helper characters who can toggle switches or perform various tasks to assist the lead actor in his journey through the world of echochrome.

The music and sound effects in the game possess the same haunting lilt and echo effect as the original "Kairou" which jibes well with the stark presentation of the stages. In the first level (A1), players have to toggle two switches to build "bridges" to reach the exit. Stage A2 isn't much more complicated but adds the task of removing obstacles to reach the exit. There's a little surprise at the end of Stage A2 before the protagonist is allowed to leave but additional surprises may be encountered throughout the game. As players conquer the early levels, later stages progressively ramp up in difficulty with new challenges that require thought and proper manipulation of switches, items, and other obstacles shown on each stage. After successfully completely a level, you're given the option of replaying in case you're interested in improving upon any mistakes or mishaps that occurred during your initial performance.

Taisen!! Katochan no Kololon! - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» A flatulent geezer named Kato-chan serves as the emcee and entire cast in the latest rendition of the Kollon aka Ultimate Block Party puzzle game from Cyberfront. Kato-chan is a versatile actor who appears in the game in various personas including a police officer, a geisha, crab, drumstick, mountain, and many more. The gist of the Kollon game is this: players control a 2x2 grid overlay which is used to rotate 2x2 group of colored crooked-smiley-face blocks. The aim is to create matches of at least four contiguous blocks around the cluttered playfield. When a match is made, the blocks will start spinning and that's your cue to try and rotate more like-colored blocks to touch the morass or ignite other color combinations elsewhere. With so many blocks on the board at any time, chain combos are ripe for the making...

Rainbow Pop - Import Preorder

When NCS first got a taste of Rainbow Pop a few weeks ago, we immediately thought, "Bejeweled Clonage, Nihon Style." In the game, players manipulate seven different colored shapes with a Wii Remote-controlled reticule so that at least three of the same type are contiguous to each other. Four game modes are available: Story Mode, Puzzle Mode, Versus Mode CPU, and Versus Mode 2P. If we were publishing the game in Japan, we'd price it at JPY2800 but Interchannel is going with the unrealistic retail rate of JPY4980. The market will price it correctly however by discounting it within a week of release. Preorders ship on Sept 4, 2008.

If multiple creatures of the same color appear, it's possible to circle them all to send them away. Each tapped creature is accompanied by an arrow cue.
