The flight of the planes and the dog fighting action runs fast and hot as pilots struggle to keep up with zooming hostiles and situations at hand. As the story goes, theaters of conflict are popping up all over the world and only a team of fighter pilots can quell the firestorms.

Modes in the game include:
SCENARIO / Travel to hot spots around the globe and engage in aerial combat that's backed by a storyline and conflict situations.
CHALLENGE / Missions with simple objectives such as blasting enemies.
MULTIPLAY / Head-to-head action in Arena and Versus modes (online)

   Over 30 fighter jets are featured in the game including the F-15J, F/A-18C, F-14B, F-16C, F-22A, F-117A Nighthawk, A-10, F/A-18E Super Hornet, F-35, Su-25, and the F-2A. While no one at NCS has ever flown an F-22A or a Super Hornet, the virtual representations of both planes apparently behave as they would in real life. We'll accept Taito's word at face value.

In Taito's Insect Story, players take on the role of a young boy who explores his town and captures insects which are everywhere. After collecting a number of creepies, it's possible to pit them against opposing bugs in a card fighting game. A battle can consist of up to 4 insects on your team vs a squad of enemy bugs where the strongest wins. After fighting insects, defeated bugs are added to the player's database where they may be viewed later in a gallery. A wireless function in the game is used for trading bug data with friends and a circle of insect collectors may share each other's data to build up respective databases.

Whereas Bub and Bob used their legs to move around in the original Rainbow Islands, they're now encapsulated in bubbles which float around the screen. Drag them with the stylus to and fro to confront foes. Utilizing the Nintendo DS stylus, standard rainbow arches may be drawn and then dropped onto beasts while circular rainbows may be scribbled to capture enemies and dispatch them. A triangle-shaped doodle creates a temporary vortex which vacuums up foes in the local vicinity. The supply of rainbow drawing power is limited by a meter which prevents haphazard use of rainbow attacks. Bub and Bob battle little beasts as well as end level bosses across seven islands which feature four stages each within them.

    Taito's Pikmin Hikkonuki "Pluck" plush toys are being re-released in the late Spring of 2022 where the little alien creatures are snuggled inside blocks of imitation dirt. Similar to how Captain Olimar plucks Pikmin from the ground in the Pikmin game, Hikkonuki owners pluck the plush Pikmin from their vestibules before releasing them to snap down into the cozy receptacle.
