Space Invaders Tumblers - New Import, In Stock

Taito continues to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Space Invaders with yet another product announcement. This time, it's tumblers which measure 20cm or 7.87" tall and hold 16 oz of liquid. Pour yourself a beverage and slurp it noisily from an eye-catching Space Invaders-themed tumbler. Three styles are on offer but we've got dibs on the (C) variant which features the blackness of space where invaders dance amongst the stars. Our second choice would be the red tumbler with black invaders which is stark and visually striking.

For those of you who aren't quite sure about what a "tumbler" is, it's basically a cup within a cup. In the case of the Space Invaders tumbler, the inner cup is made of black plastic which is inserted into the clear outer cup. The dual-cup design keeps cold drinks cold due to the insulation provided by the outer cup. Preorders have shipped already as of Monday and new orders are welcome to ship today.

Character Vocal Series 01: Miku Hatsune - New, RstkSn

Vocaloid (Vocal + Android) is a Japanese song simulator from Yamaha and Crypton Future Media where users type in lyrics and the software engine sings out the words in rapid fire staccato. Voice actress Fujita Saki provides the voice for Miku Hatsune in the software and she sounds like a mix between a munchkin and a generalized cartoon character. Vocaloid 2 has enjoyed strong sales since its release last year and Miku has been making the rounds on the merchandising circuit.

Good Smile Company's new Miku figure features the tall and lanky version of the songstress as opposed to the squat super-deformed Nendroid toy which was released recently in Japan. Normal-size Miku is sculpted to 1/8 scale and measures 18cm or 7.08" in height.
She has two huge flanks of green hair which billow to her side and her outfit is typical Idolmaster. A pair of thigh-high leggings complete her superstar look. A partial shipment has arrived but the remainder will arrive in 1-2 weeks.

Dead or Alive X2 Tina 1/8 Scale Figure - New, RstkSn

From the Toy Distributor
Taking a break from martial arts tournaments, aspiring model Tina takes a swim deep in the waters surrounding Zack Island. Cleverly engineered and perfectly balanced, Tina is alluringly posed mid-stroke on a detailed undersea coral base. Tina's outfit is removable, allowing you to display in either the Grus or the revealing Moonstone swimsuits.

This 1:6 scale PVC figure is sculpted by Yuzo, and measures approximately 10-inches long. The XBox 360 sequel to DOA Xtreme takes the players beyond combat, beyond volleyball, and into additional beach activities, such as personal watercraft races, gambling, and more! All the while, still looking as gorgeous as ever in a variety of stunning beach wear!

Preorders are shipping today, new orders will ship within 3-5 days.

Yattaman Bikkuri Dokkiri Machine de Mao Race - Preorder

A spate of Yattaman merchandise and a few games were released this year to celebrate the franchise's 30th Anniversary. Tomy closes out the festivities this winter with a Yattaman racing game which features the wacky cast of characters, convoluted tracks, and mission-based mini-games that have nothing to do with racing. Preorders are welcome to ship on December 4, 2008.

First Step the Fighting! DS - Preorder

According to Hajime no Ippo manga lore, Makunouchi Ippo was an underdog who used inner drive and natural talent to become a top contender in the world of professional boxing. Mak's trials and tribulations have been chronicled in games for the Gameboy Advance, PS2, PSP, and the Wii. The Nintendo DS gets some love from Ippo this December when ESP releases a Hajime no Ippo boxing game for the Nintendo DS.

This time around, the touch pen is used to control Ippo's punches as well as the bobbing and weaving motions that pugilists use to avoid incoming thunder. The Challenge Mode in the game pits a boxer against each a series of adversaries while the Free Play Mode gives gamers a chance to alter the variables of a match. Preorders ship on December 4, 2008.

General Updates

Xbox 360 Arcade Pack
Our inventory of the X360 Arcade Pack was sold out over the weekend but another batch is expected within the next 1-2 days. New orders submitted now will ship once restock arrives on Wed-Thurs. Similar to the previous batch, the new supply of consoles will have HDMI output and the Falcon chipset.
Nintendo DSi Update
Downloadable content for the DSi will be region-protected. Apparently, DSi-specific cards are also region-coded but it's unlikely there'll be too many (if any) DSi-exclusive game cards.
PSP-2000 Clearance
Asian vendors have begun selling off their remaining PSP-2000 inventory in anticipation of the PSP-3000 launch but prices haven't hit panic levels yet. In other words, the slashing and burning hasn't begun. We'll update accordingly if any compelling deals materialize in the next few weeks.
