The year 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the Raiden series by Seibu Kaihatsu which enthralled shmup fans with a vertically-scrolling shooter filled with waves of enemy forces and thunderous explosions. While Raiden V won't make it in time to close out 2015, publisher Moss has scheduled to game for release in the next two months for the Japanese marketplace in both digital download and physical retail releases. The upcoming shooter features branching levels and an online "Cheer Support System" where spectators watching a game in progress can push a button to encourage the player onwards and boost his firepower.
Reservations are welcome for the Japanese Xbox One release of Raiden V which ships on February 25, 2015. The first printing of the game will include a BGM soundtrack CD featuring tracks composed by Yoshimi Kudo.
