X360 Mushihimesama HD - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Every two centuries, the monstrous insects of the Forest of Pearls have demanded a teenage human sacrifice from the kingdom of Starfall. It's about that time but winds of change are in the air. To put an end to the barbaric ritual, the precocious 15-year old Princess Reko straddles a golden-shelled beetle named Kiniro and works her way through insect-filled levels where purple buckshot chokes the air with their density. Guide Reko through mazes of moving blips and use beetle firepower to take on all comers.

Reko shoots for her life with the following weapons:

M-Power - Vulcan cannon
W-Power - Spread shot
S-Power - Streaming laser

Additional power-ups may be gathered up during the game such as wingmen which fly adjacent to Reko and add to her main shots and a shadow beetle which follows Kiniro's body with additional firepower.

Seven years after porting Mushihimesama on the Japanese Playstation 2, Cave is bringing the game over to the Xbox 360 for a May 24, 2012 release. Game modes in the Xbox 360 port (as seen in the first screenshot below) are Novice, X360, and Arrange. Additional game options are Score Attack, Leaderboards, Training, Replay Data, and Options. An image gallery is probably located in the Options section. Reservations are welcome starting today for two versions:

» Mushihimesama HD Regular Edition (JPY7140) or US$96.90 from NCS
» Mushihimesama HD Limited Edition (JPY9240) or US$128.90 from NCS

From the Publisher

 A Story Full of Character

While the mainland of the Empire faces both conflict and the slow creep of the

The key to the island's defences is a battery of mighty guns,
which exude some strange magic that seems to draw monsters in.

The young mercenary Zael, along with a band of fellow adventurers,
comes to the island in the hope of finding more work. Their new employer is none
other than the ruler of the island himself, Count Arganan. If they can meet the
Count's expectations then there is some hope that their unstable mercenary existence could become a thing of the past. For Zael and his companions, who dream of a stable life as knights, this job represents a chance they may never get again.

Zael obtains a mysterious new power...
