Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou tai Abaddon Ou - Preorder

Hearken back to the Taisho Era of Japan (1912-1926) when Japan was ascendant on the world stage. Japan asserted its military might in Asia and leaned towards a democratic system of government. Against this backdrop, players take on the role of Raidou Kuzunoha once again who works as a detective for the Kuzunoha Detective Agency.

NCS is accepting preorders for two versions of Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou vs the King of Abaddon as follows:

Regular Edition - JPY6980
Standard version which includes a Devil Summoner Soundtrack CD with every copy of the game.

Limited Plus Edition - JPY9800
In addition to the aforementioned Soundtrack CD, the Limited Edition includes a copy of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition.

Preorders for both versions are welcome to ship on October 23, 2008.

Super Mario DX Sofubi Figure 7 - Import Preorder

Bandai has been pushing the same old Mario Sofubi figure for years now. They've never changed the design or detailing of the toy and they're not about to start now. The seventh Mario Sofubi series gives us another bout of deja vu with an identical Mario figure but at least Toad is different. Mario is dressed in his regulation-issue red and blue attire and measures 22cm (8.66") tall while Toad is 18cm or 7.08" in height.

Both Sofubi figures feature posable arms and their heads may be twisted from side to side for limited posturing. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late December 2008 at US$19.90 each.

Nintendo Prize Collection Sofubi Figure 3 - Import Preorder

The Nintendo Prize Collection versions of the Mario Sofubi Figures are smaller versions of their DX Sofubi brethren. The latest set features five figures which have posable arms (when applicable) as follows:

» Mario - Same old design from the very first Sofubi set
» Green Yoshi - Wears brown boots as if to mimic Mario's footwear
» Yellow Yoshi - Green boots on a yellow beast don't really match
» Wario - The width of Wario is thrice that of Mario
» Goomba - Identical to the Goomba in the second Mario Sofubi set

Note that the Mario, Green Yoshi, and Goomba figures are the same exact figures from previous NPC Sofubi Figure sets but the Yellow Yoshi and Wario are brand new. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late December 2008 at US$12.50 per figure.

Kingdom Hearts Play Arts Figures - Import Preorder

Square Enix has started preorders for Kingdom Hearts Play Arts figures crafted from PVC which feature three characters as follows:

» Sora - Armed with the Keyblade and measures 17cm or 6.69" tall
» King Mickey - Also armed with a Keyblade; measures 13cm (5.11") tall
» Riku - Friend of Sora who measures 21cm or 8.26" in height

The figures feature multiple points of articulation so they may be positioned in various poses. Each figure is packaged with the weapon shown in the photo which may be inserted into its hand.

Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late December 2008 at JPY4000 or US$39.90 per figure. Please note that NCS is currently only accepting reservations for the Japanese version of the figures although a USA version is expected to also be released sometime in 2009.

Monster Hunter Pugi Collection G - Import Preorder

The Monster Hunter games are all about venturing out into the world and butchering helpless creatures big and small. When a bunch of docile vegetarian monsters are grazing on some leafy vegetables, a hero can charge in and wipe them all out with a few sword strokes and berserker-fueled rage. Y'know, get your KILL ON. Once decimated, the monsters can be carved into a bunch of tasty mutton chops. Nice.

Monster Hunter wasn't all about death however. In marked contrast against the main gist of the game, there's also camaraderie with pet pigs known as Pugi. Since the Pugi in Monster Hunter can be dressed up in various clothing styles, it's only natural that toys based on dressy Pugi be released in Japan.

NCS took delivery of the Pugi a couple of months ago but sold out to preorders. Manufacturer Chara Ani has started accepting reservations for another production of the Monster Hunter Pugi toys which are scheduled to ship in November. Six standard Pugi are featured in the set along with one secret Pugi figure and three dupes. Preorders ship in late Nov 2008.
