VITA Vita Offers Received - Update

NCS expects to start preorders for the Japanese Playstation Vita on Monday of next week after receiving a "first offer" for the hardware from Japanese suppliers last night. The initial trade pricing for the Vita is over the retail price of the handheld in Japan and we expect to supply the WiFi and 3G versions of the hardware. It's interesting to note that there is a price differential between Vita export shipments sent on December 16, 2011 and shipments sent on December 17, 2011. I.e, if we want them quicker, we'll pay a slight premium.

The 3G Vita bundles will also apparently come with a 'forced' 100-hour prepaid card (retail value of JPY4980) that we're obligated to buy with every 3G handheld that we import into the States. We'll clarify the details over the weekend and post a formal preorder offer on Monday.
