Weekly Famitsu Vol. 1058 - New Import, Subscriptions
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Nintendo DSi - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» We're happy with our regular black Nintendo DSi that we use for game testing but we might be compelled to keep one of the Kingdom Hearts NDSi units as well... just because it looks so snazzy. The word "snazzy" doesn't get much play in NYC, so we'll try to use it again later this week. The top of the NDSi features hearts, crosses, crowns, and mouse ears in a repeating pattern that's somewhat Vuitton'esque. Square Enix opened up preorders last Friday for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts NDSi and reservations are welcome today from NCS. Pricing is set at JPY24,880 or US$265.90.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» Organization XIII is full of Nobodies. Not just any average nobody that trudges or scurries across the Earth however. These Nobodies are a group of powerful beings who literally have no hearts and cause major problems for the Disney/Square heroes of Kingdom Hearts. In the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, producer Tetsuya Nomura tells the story of Roxas' work experience with Organization XIII and his eventual "self awakening" which leads him to quit the organization. A fourteenth Nobody named Xion will be introduced in 358/2 who's shown sitting with Roxas and Axel in on of the previews on Square's official site for the game.
Preorders are welcome to ship on May 30, 2009 at JPY5800 or US$60.90 from NCS.
Evangelion Movie Version Boxers Collection - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» Reservations are welcome for a collection of six Evangelion Boxers that feature NERV, SEELE, and other designs that are apparently evocative of the Evangelion franchise. The manufacturer Movic is offering the collection in Medium (waist: 76~84cm or 29.92~33.07") and Large (waist: 84~94cm or 33.07~37.00") sizes. If your waist is larger than those ranges, please note that you can still purchase the boxers as a collectible item but we'd advise restraint in actually wearing them. The boxers are woven from 10% cotton and 90% polyester.
Preorders are welcome to ship on or around June 26, 2009 at JPY3200 or US$40.90 from NCS for the complete set of six boxers as shown.
Doraemon Flashlight USB Drive 1GB - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» In the Doraemon mythos, the robotic cat carries flashlight gadgets which are capable of making things smaller or bigger. Taito takes Doraemon's flashlights and crafts them into 1GB USB drives which are capable of storing data, pictures, and even secret information. The flashlights bear an uncanny likeness to their cartoon counterparts so Taito did a decent job in that respect. An added bonus of the USB flashlights is the illumination that they throw off when plugged into a USB port. Maybe the flashlight drives can serve double duty as night lights.
Preorders are welcome to ship in late June 2009 at US$23.90 per USB drive. Please select your version preference from the shop dropdown menu.

Musou Orochi Z [Asian] + Bonus Pen- New, In Stock
«©NCSX» In the two Musou Orochi games from Koei, warriors from Sangoku Musou and Sengoku Musou joined together to battle a scaly lizard lord named Orochi. In the game, players took control of a team of warriors and their minions who then battled entire legions of enemy soldiers. Sales were pretty good and Koei had another franchise on their hands. A franchise that's going to be exploited and extended and wrought onto various platforms.
Musou Orochi Z for the Playstation 3 gathers together all of the stages from the earlier Musou Orochi games and throws in 12 new stages that were designed exclusively for the PS3 update for a total of 140 stages in all. Two new characters bolster the roster to 96 champions and a comprehensive Dramatic Mode that's playable by every character is also featured in the game. One of the new characters is a bruiser named Benkei who we'd liken to a human tank complete with forward thrusting motion. Benkei uses a versatile gauntlet as his weapon against the hordes. The enemies aren't really aggressive in their attacks though and the action tends to get tedious after the 500th kill. Maybe we're just being jaded again.
