The beetle hobby is strong in Japan with certain specimens fetching
hundreds of thousands of yen to procure them
from breeders. At a slightly lower cost,
Japanese manufacturer Yell produces a quartet of
beetles which won't set you back a month's
salary. The four PVC specimens are:
» Yamato beetle
» Hercules beetle
» Sawtooth Stag beetle
» Giraffe Stag beetle
Each beetle requires snap-lock assembly but once constructed,
you'll have a rascal with 10 points of
articulation for posing and posturing. The
length of each beetles measures slightly over 5"
in total.
Preorders
are welcome to ship in late April 2024 at
US$26.98 for the complete set of 4. These toys
are distributed to gashapon vendors in Japan to
be dispensed in random fashion but NCS will
assemble them into complete sets.
