Akai Katana Shin announced for Europe «©NCSX» Rising Star Games is localizing Cave's Akai Katana Shin for the European market next Spring. NCS will start preorders and provide more details once distributors in Europe begin their reservation campaigns. The European version of DoDonPachi Resurrection Deluxe is expected to ship out from UK vendors on Friday of this week.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 LIGHTNING EDITION Ver.2    Initial allocations for the FFXIII-2 Lightning Edition Ver.2 console bundle were distributed last night by vendors and NCS expects to start reservations in the next week or two. Please note that the console is only being parceled out in limited quantities from distributors but we'll have a better idea of how many we can import in the next few days.

NEWS General Updates

European Imports    X360 DoDonPachi Resurrection and the Mario Headphones are shipping out of the UK late next week and we should receive our shipments on November 8, 2011. Preorders for both items are welcome.

Playstation Vita WiFi    Preorders for the WiFi-only version of the Playstation Vita are expected to start next week. To clarify some details for customers who have been asking, the 3G version of the Vita is also capable of accessing WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n Infrastructure/Ad-hoc mode and isn't limited to only 3G connectivity.

PS3 Idolmaster 2 - New Import

«©NCSX» The Xbox 360 version of Idolmaster 2 shipped earlier this year and the Playstation 3 conversion makes it to market today. Players adopt the role of a producer who trains and conditions aspiring idols so that they dances, sings, and entertains the crowd like a seasoned pro. At the outset of the game, three girls are selected from a stable of up 'n coming talent and the producer's job is to sculpt their images, make sure they train, and enter them into contests against other pop groups. Successful forays into the music industry allows the producer to expand the group from three girls to five girls which unlocks more songs and moves to garner more fans.

   In addition to providing for the girls professionally, the producer also serves as a confidante to guide them through the rigors of their personal lives and instances of doubt or tension. Creating a rapport with the idols boosts their performances which leads to bigger successes.

«©NCSX» Japanese manufacturer Ensky is releasing a trio of Mario-themed towels for the Japanese marketplace in December. The towels measure 35 cm x 85 cm (13.77 x 33.46″) in area and are packaged in plastic sleeves. Ensky describes the towels as mini in size but they're big enough to be bath towels or maybe beach towels for skinny frames. The three varieties are as follows (from the upper left, going down, and then headed to the upper right in the photo to the right):

«©NCSX» Preorders for the Playstation Vita are welcome today and initial pricing stands at US$549.90 for the 3G model which includes a 100-hour prepaid card. The prepaid card is being bundled with the 3G Vita handheld so we have to buy them together in the initial offer from Japanese vendors. This may change in the coming weeks and we'll adjust our offers accordingly for customers as new information arrives. NCS' Vita Preorder section.

   Please note that we are not accepting reservations for the WiFi version of the Vita yet because vendor pricing is unreasonable given the small disparity between the 3G and WiFi sales pricing at the moment. We think there's going to be a glut of Vita hardware in the distribution channel so we're treading lightly with the Vita in the anticipation of lower prices as the launch date nears. Prices will be adjusted accordingly for our customers based on how the market goes in mid-December 2011. Based on information from vendors, we should start receiving the initial shipments of the Vita on December 19, 2011 and preorders ship upon arrival.

Information rehashed from our previous Vita update
   NCS doesn't expect shortages of the hardware at launch since inventory is always available for export at higher prices from Japanese suppliers so anyone who wants a Vita and is willing to pay the higher prices can get one. It's been like that since the days of the original Playstation when games like Toshinden and Ridge Racer were in demand and it's the same now. When the Playstation 3 was launched in Japan in late 2006, retail shops in Japan sold out fairly quickly but the export channel was brimming with inventory. Repeat: brimming.
