«©NCSX» In Midway's Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, gamers finally get to answer daunting questions such as, "Can Superman beat Raiden?" and "What happens when Batman meets Kano?" These questions and more will be answered when MK vs DCU ships next week for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America and Europe. Generally, games are the same in both territories but there'll be censoring in the U.S. version. To achieve a "Teen" rating in the States, Midway had to edit the Joker's gunshot-in-the-face fatality and Kitana's fan-to-forehead-impaling fatality. Seeing such heinous fictional actions would apparently traumatize the youth of North America.
Europeans are apparently a more permissive lot as their version of MK vs DCU won't be censored. Both fatalities will make it to the production version of the game which is scheduled to ship on November 21. NCS is accepting preorders for the European edition of the game which should be in stock by November 21 or 24.

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe - Import Preorder
Riz-Zoawd + Bonus Soundtrack - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» The Wizard of Oz gets a remix and a revision in Media Vision's Riz-Zoawd which is a not-so-clever anagram of the original film title. We would have went with War-Dizzo but that's just us. In the game, Dorothy and her dog Toto are transported to Oz where they encounter all manner of oddities including a Lion who's an utter coward, a Scarecrow in search of a brain, and a Tin Man who needs a heart. Yes, it sounds crazy but it worked once in the movies and it might work again in a game format.
Riz-Zoawd features an interesting control scheme where a green trac-ball is represented on the touch screen of the NDS. To move, roll the stylus on the trac-ball and Dorothy and crew will wander across the world of Oz in flowing motion. Preorders are welcome to ship on January 1, 2009.

The Kingdom Blu-Ray Disc - Preorder, Ships on Wed-Thurs
From the Publisher
Actor, writer, and director Peter Berg (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) delivers a fearless, action-packed political thriller with THE KINGDOM. Shot in the Middle East with unsettling immediacy, the hand-held cameras put viewers right inside the action, while the tension between American FBI agents and their Saudi counterparts maintains an interesting uncertainty about who's "right" and who's "wrong." The bad guys, however, are unmistakable: the film opens with a brutal terrorist attack on an oil company compound in Saudi Arabia, where a visiting FBI agent is killed.
Back home in Washington, fellow agents Ronald Fleury (Jamie Foxx, RAY) and Janet Mayes (Jennifer Garner, ALIAS), want revenge, and will do whatever it takes to gain access to the investigation. Fleury all but blackmails a Saudi prince to get clearance against the wishes of a timorous attorney general, and flies overnight to the scene of the crime. Accompanying him are the no-nonsense forensics expert Mayes, Southern-fried bomb authority Grant Sykes (Chris Cooper, ADAPTATION), and Jewish smart aleck Adam Leavitt (Jason Bateman, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT).

Veterans Day Holiday The nation honors its military vets today. Since Veteran's Day is a national holiday in the United States, no postal shipments will be dispatched today. UPS and Fedex are operating normally. |
Postal Service Level Observations Over the summer, our postal shipments to customers across Europe were very fast, very efficient and there was nary a hiccup to be found. Over the past couple of weeks as we head into the season when package volumes swell to abnormal levels, we've begun to notice slower deliveries to our customers in Europe and surrounding territories. In some cases, the additional time added to a Priority Mail International package was 14 business days - during the summer, the same package arrived in 3-6 days total. Due to the seasonal slowdown, we ask our customers in Europe to allow additional time for parcels to reach their destinations. In related news, the U.S. Postal Service is looking to cut jobs. |
