Lost Kubricks - Preorder

Medicom has started preorders for Lost Kubrick figures which measure 6cm or 2.36" tall and feature the main cast of characters as follows (from the upper left and rolling clockwise):

Jack Shephard, Kate Austen, Sawyer (James Ford), Charlie Pace, John Locke, Hurley (Hugo Reyes), and Sayid Jarrah.

We're guessing at least one of the secret chase figures has to be Sun Kwon or Claire Littleton. Preorders ship in late August 2008.

Jieitai Seifuku Collection - Preorder

After the conclusion of WWII, the Constitution of Japan was drawn up which did away with the nation's official armed forces. However, the Jieitai or "Japanese Self-Defense Forces" was created which looked very much like a standing army, a navy, and an air-force.

Japanese toy manufacturer Zaccapap focuses on the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in the upcoming Jieitai Seifuku Collection which features a collection of tanks, missile launchers, and trucks used by the Japanese Army. A total of 10 toys are randomly packaged in each factory box but note that there's a total of 12 regular toys and 1 secret. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2008 at US$53.90 per box of toys.

To Love-Ru: Lala Satarin Deviluke - Preorder

NCS started preorders for a Lala in leopard-print ensemble last week but Good Smile Company one-ups that with a Lala figure that's decked out in her resplendent Princess of Deviluke uniform. Lala's pink tresses are also wilder in the new figure where the strands splay out like some sort of ruddy octopus.

Similar to the earlier Lala figure, GSC's rendition is set at 1/8 scale but measures 22cm or 8.66" in height which is about 2" taller than Shueisha's Lala. We attribute the difference to Lala Deviluke's elongated pose and the "bat-wing-ish" adornment on her cap. The figure is packaged with a scepter accessory which may be inserted in Lala's default right hand and an extra right hand where the index finger and thumb point upwards . Preorders are welcome to ship in late August 2008 at US$59.90.

General Updates

Japanese PS3 60GB Price Change Vendors in Japan got gouge-happy over month ago by raising the price of the original PS3 60GB console to nearly $900. Things have settled down in the past few days and prices are more reasonable at about $780 as of this morning. If you're in the market for a 60GB unit, we'd advise waiting another couple of weeks. The inventory data that we're privy to hasn't changed and the number of units available for sale has actually gone up in the past month.

Senjou no Valkyria Limited Edition Update Please note that Sega is expected to cut the allocation of the Senjou no Valkyria Limited Edition bundle and the final shipment information should be available to us by tomorrow morning. If the allocation is indeed slashed, please be advised that we may not be able to fill everyone's preorder if none of our alternate vendors are able to make up the difference. On the other hand, if everything turns out to be hunky-dory, we'll ship all preorders as originally scheduled on Thursday.

Ah! Megamisama Goddess Figures - Clearance

Goddesses Belldandy, Urd and Skuld appear regal in Sega Toys' Ah! Megamisama collection of figures. Each diva measures roughly 5" tall, with Skuld being the runt of the litter at roughly 4" in height. In the manga and animated series, Skuld's vertical challenge doesn't deter her from trading insults and fireworks with her older sister.

This particular set of toys was released by Sega in 2002 for their Amusement Prizes series. In other words, these are the toys you would "buy" with your winning tokens in Japanese arcades.
