Real Action Heroes Evangelion 2.0 - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Medicom has started preorders for two Evangelion figures which are inspired by the Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance theatrical film which bows in Japan on June 27, 2009. The two characters are:

»
Shinji Ikari who's dressed in a blue plug-suit
»
Rei Ayanami in resplendent form-fitting white

Each figure measures 30cm (11.81") tall and is part of Medicom's renowned Real Action Heroes collection which features toys that are highly posable and of high caliber construction quality. Pricing is set at JPY16,800 or US$179.90 and preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late August for the Shinji (RAH-449) figure and mid-late September for Rei's (RAH-454) new RAH turn.

Super Robot Wars Bath Vol. 2: Ibis Douglas - Preorder

«©NCSX» Ibis Douglas is a red-eyed, flame-haired heroine who made her debut in Banpresto's Super Robot Wars Alpha 2 video game for the Playstation 2. She went on to appear in the SRW Original Generation games as well as the third canonical SRW Alpha release. When we first meet Ibis in the SRW chronology, she's not much of a pilot and is given the nickname of "Silver Shooting Star" since she's often shot down in flight combat sims. Even though she starts off as amateurish, Ibis has great potential within and eventual becomes a formidable mech handler capable of devastating similarly formidable opponents.

Chara Ani celebrates all that is Ibis with a bathing figure which shows her dreamy side. Ibis leans against a crag and stares off into the distance with a listless posture that suggests the Sandman might be drawing near. Ibis measures 11cm or 4.33" tall in her kneeling position and the figure is made of PVC. Preorders are welcome to ship in late July 2009 at JPY6500 ($65.90).

Capcom Girls Collection SFZ Cammy - Preorder

«©NCSX» Songstress Kylie Minoque played Lieutenant Cammy in the Street Fighter movie from 1994 and she bore a fairly good likeness to the blonde-braided fighter. If we were to nominate an actress to play the new Capcom Girls Collection SFZ Cammy, we'd probably have to go with Christina Applegate. The facial structure is about the same and the eyes match. Note however that CGC Cammy's eyes are a little crossed while Christina's aren't.

Yamato's upcoming Cammy rendition is sculpted to 1/7 scale and measures 26cm or 10.23" tall. Cammy stands at attention and raises her right arm in salute. If her eyes look a little distant, maybe it's because she's in her brainwashed "Killer Bee" persona when Cammy worked under the employ of the Shadaloo (Shadowlaw) criminal organization. Remember, she was brainwashed so Cammy gets a free pass from her sordid past. The sculpture is by Mitsumasa Yoshizawa (REFLECT) and preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late August 2009 at JPY7800 or US$80.90 from NCS. Due to the size of the figure, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the USA.

Tales of the Abyss One Coin Grande Renewal - Preorder

«©NCSX» Luke fon Fabre and Tear Grants lead a cast of six characters in Kotobukiya's re-release of the Tales of the Abyss One Coin Grande Figures which feature high production values at reasonable prices. The figures measure 8 cm to 11 cm tall and the characters in the collection are: Luke fon Fabre, Guy Cecil, Tear Grants, Anise Tatlin, Jade Curtiss, and Natalia Luzu Kimlasca Lanvaldear. There's a seventh secret figure in the form of Don Master Ion.
Two types of each regular character is randomly packaged in the blind boxes with the difference being the weapon that's included with each figure. The Renewal version of the Tales of the Abyss toys features new packaging artwork for the individual cardboard boxes. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY7200 or US$73.90 from NCS.

The Song Generation (ザ★歌謡ジェネレーション) - Preorder

«©NCSX» The 70s and 80s were a great time for music in the USA. Radio play in the 70s featured the likes of the Bee Gees, Abba, and Aerosmith. Shuffle forward to the 80s and synthesizers gave groups like Duran Duran, The Eurythmics, and The Thompson Twins their breathy synthpop sound. Over in Japan, great music was also being made and AQ Interactive gives the "classics" a nod with a rhythm action (touch-tapping) game that features Japanese songs from the 70s and 80s. Notable tunes from the 25-track play list include "Cha-Cha-Cha" from the Little Ones, "My Revolution" by Misato Watanabe, Toshishita No Otokonoko (年下の男の子) courtesy of the Candies, and "17 Years Old" by Saori Minami. Preorders are welcome to ship on June 18, 2009 at JPY4800 or US$50.90 from NCS.

General Updates

Planet.com DDOS Attack
ThePlanet.com and sites hosted on their network were down last night because of a nameserver outage that affected ns1 to ns6.theplanet.com and ev1servers.net. Our shop at www.ncsxshop.com is hosted on their network and the server is actually up. You can access the shop by typing the IP of 207.44.136.39 into your browser but since all links resolve to the domain name, it's not navigable.

The problem should be fixed soon but in the meantime, orders may be placed on our alternate shop located at www.shopncsx.com. It's almost the one year anniversary of the server room explosion from last summer (June 1, 2008) so maybe it was about time for another outage. Update at 8:38AM EST - All services appear to be restored and the website is functioning properly.
PS3 Demon's Souls Asian
Sony Hong Kong has not released the new batch of Demon's Souls yet and we're waiting for an update from distributors. We'll post again once we have news on the restock.

SOTD ASCII Stick Engine - New Old Stock, Clearance

«©NCS» Before Hori took over de-facto production of third party controllers, memory cards, and accessories in Japan, ASCII was the king of the realm. In the 80s and 90s, the company commanded a healthy market share for Famicom, PC-Engine, and Super Famicom accessories.

Today, we offer PC-Engine joysticks that were originally released by ASCII on November 24, 1990. The base of the controller measures 7 3/4 x 6 5/8" and the lollipop-style joystick rises up about 2" from its foundation. Similar to a standard PC-Engine control pad, the ASCII Stick Engine features a turbo-fire function for the buttons but the level of turbo may be adjusted with by twisting two dials for button 1 and 2. «NCS Photo gallery»
