Dragon Quest V - New Import, In Stock

Enix originally released Dragon Quest V for the Super Famicom in 1992 and followed up with a Playstation 2 remake in 2003 which was priced at a healthy JPY7800. Fast forward five years and Square Enix re-releases the game once again on the Nintendo DS. Square's strategy of rehashing their library of games may be good business acumen since developing new franchises is hard work and potentially unprofitable. The company shows it's resolve at re-releasing once again this week.

Dragon Quest V tells the story of the royal Papas family across the span of three generations. The NDS conversion is based on the PS2 remake and features a 3D game world, more monsters to recruit into your party, and the possibility to travel with four party members instead of three.

Metal Slug 7 - New Import, In Stock

Most games released this year won't see a sequel. The same thing happened last year and the year before that. The marketplace is fickle and it won't suffer fools more than once. With the hit rate so low year after year, it's always heartwarming when a game reaches its seventh stride with no signs of letting up.

Metal Slug 7 which is the latest release in a series that originally debuted in 1996. Six army grunts are featured in the game including Slug stalwarts such as Marco, Fio, and Eri. The soldiers run from left to right across seven horizontally scrolling battlefield stages and shoot, jump, and lob bombs at enemy forces. The end of each level is blocked by an imposing boss who is generally challenging. «NCS Game Notes»

Gundam Battle Universe - New Import, In Stock

Bandai has released three Gundam Battle games on the PSP thus far and their fourth title Gundam Battle Universe continues the tradition of fast-paced 3D action. Gundam properties featured include Stardust Memory (UC0083), Zeta Gundam (UC0087), ZZ Gundam (UC0088), and Char's Counterattack (UC0093). Players control mobile suits on the side of the Earth Federation or the Zeon and venture into missions where energy swords are swung and beam weapons are fired to complete various objectives. In addition to search and destroy missions, there are also escort missions and protection missions as well where a base or ship is guarded from attack. The original Gundam Battle Tactics is still our favorite game in the series with its perfect control and varied missions but the entire Gundam Battle series is built on the original game engine from Battle Tactics. That means perfect controls, challenging missions, and fluid action as mechs jump-jet and clash on city squares, deserts, and even underwater.

Players of Gundam Battle Chronicle may transfer data over to Gundam Battle Universe and the wireless mode allows for multiple players to engage in Versus campaigns. To round out the feature set, a Gallery Mode includes a library of Mobile Suits featured in the game, a full Character roster of heroes such as Ray Amuro and Shiroh Amada, Background information on the Gundam mythos, and a collection of Illustrations. The War Record keeps track of your battlefield performance and the Gundam Museum features BGM tracks to listen to. «NCS Game Notes

Warrior of Argus for PS2 - Clearance

Inspired loosely by Greek mythology, Warrior of Argus chronicles the adventures of a a disc-wielding warrior who rushes out and whirls his wheel of death to dispatch foes in a bid to save a princess. Unlike most warriors who use a sword or a spear, Rygar's weapon of choice is a spinning disc known as the Diskarmor which is tethered to a chain. Think of it as a sort of yoyo that flies horizontally and is highly versatile. Stateside players may know Warrior of Argus better as Rygar: The Legendary Warrior which is an update of the old Tecmo coin-op game called Rygar.
