«©NCSX» The Xbox 360 version of Idolmaster 2 shipped earlier this year and the Playstation 3 conversion makes it to market today. Players adopt the role of a producer who trains and conditions aspiring idols so that they dances, sings, and entertains the crowd like a seasoned pro. At the outset of the game, three girls are selected from a stable of up 'n coming talent and the producer's job is to sculpt their images, make sure they train, and enter them into contests against other pop groups. Successful forays into the music industry allows the producer to expand the group from three girls to five girls which unlocks more songs and moves to garner more fans.
In addition to providing for the girls professionally, the producer also serves as a confidante to guide them through the rigors of their personal lives and instances of doubt or tension. Creating a rapport with the idols boosts their performances which leads to bigger successes.
