«©NCSX» Although Tomy delayed the release of Cyber Drive Zoids for the GBA by a few weeks, NCS received the Cyber Drive Zoids Diablo Tiger and Cyclops toy models earlier in the week. The Zoids toys may be controlled by the included plastic remote or by the GBA unit once the Cyber Drive game is released. Each toy ships in a flip-top box with a with the remote and Zoids creature housed in a windowed box. A Gun unit is also included for bolting onto the Zoid.

   Cyclops - Elasmotherium Type fights for the Republic and obvious features of this beast are the rhino-like horn protruding from it's snout, shielded mane and a mighty cannon mounted atop it's backside. A harmless pellet may be shot from the cannon at objects in the distance, at fruit flies, or towards other Zoids toys.

   The CDZ-02 Cyclops box is over two decades old and the tape on the bottom of the boxes have yellowed and become brittle but the inventory is new, never opened, and fresh from NCS' original shipments in 2003.

TOYS Zoids Saga II ArtStatue Bloody Death Saurer - Import Sale, $36.90

NCS Product Synopsis
   An exclusive miniature Bloody Death Saurer action figure which was only released in Japan as a bonus for the Gameboy Advance version of Zoids Saga II from 2003. The mecha beast is shown stomping on what looks like a castle and a blast of plastic fire projects from its open maw. The figure measures approximately 2 5/8" tall and the Death Saurer, the castle platform, and the plastic fire are separate and are designed to be fitted together to create the scene shown on the box cover.

   NCS' remaining inventory is new and sealed in the original factory cardboard box.

TOYS Zoids Shield Liger Diecast Action Figure - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» When Napolean Dynamite doodled his version of the animal known as a "Liger," it looked like a sissy with its gentile face and effete haunches. Napolean defined the Liger as follows, "It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic."

   The Liger in Zoids is much more formidable and powerful than Napolean's pansy-assed rendition. Zoids Liger would probably shred Napolean Liger with one swipe of its left paw coupled with a bite to the neck. Due to the Zoids Liger's elite fighting skills, NCS is intent on importing the toy when it's released later this year.

   Zoids Liger is made of die-cast metal which makes it heavy and tough. The toy is posable so that its head may be twisted, its legs angled, and its torso shifted into dynamic poses. According to Yamato's product preorder sheet, the Liger has 24 movable parts and the whole toy is made up of 200 pieces that have been meticulously melded together. The canopy on the Liger may be opened to allow a toy pilot (included) to be inserted inside. The Liger measures 44cm or 17.32cm in length and is fully pre-painted and ready for play. Preorders are welcome to ship in December 2010 at JPY17800 or US$198.90 from NCS. 

Zoids Infinity Fuzors [Best] + Bonus

Originally debuting in 2004 as a System 246 coin-op, Taito's analog-stick controlled fighting game joins the PS2 library courtesy of Tomy. Whereas the arcade originaly featured 29 Zoids to control, the PS2 version includes over 100 mechanical monsters.

Seven modes are playable including a VERSUS mode, HUNTING mode, and STORY mode. In the Story Mode, characters and mechs from Zoids Fuzors appear along with animated cut-scenes where 40 missions are played in succession. Hunting Mode is where players track down Zoids and bag them for the garage. Collecting more Zoids will make new arms and parts available to the player. As one progresses through the game, weapon power ups and parts customization may bolted onto a Zoids mech to enhance its arsenal and performance in battle. In 2-Player mode, the screen is split horizontally where each player views the action from a personal vantage point - just like the arcade original.
The Tomy Best re-issue of Zoids Infinity Fuzors contains the same game as the original release in 2005. The only difference is the variant game cover with the "Tomy Best Collection" imprint. «more»

Zoids Struggle [Best] + Bonus

Mechanical beasts shaped like recognizable animals called Zoids clash and battle in fast-paced 3-D fighting action. A little too fast perhaps. There is a learning curve here due to the speed of the game but once that's down pat, Zoids Struggle is fairly enjoyable as a 3-D fighter. Tomy touts the Armor Break system which has been borrowed from Sega's old Fighting Vipers where the armor of a Zoid breaks if blows are heaped upon a certain point. It's an interesting use of a protection system but ultimately moot in Story Mode because of how powerful some Zoids become.
As a Zoids combatant racks up wins, additional weapons may be bolted onto the beast. After a certain point, a Zoid simply becomes too powerful in the firepower department and one-on-one matches stop becoming reasonably balanced and turn into a shooting game where projectile attacks take precedence over close combat. Perhaps Tomy should have staggered out the weapon upgrades somewhat but as it is, superior firepower decides the outcome of every battle, every time. This isn't a problem in Versus matches between two players however and only affects the Story mode of the game which leads gamers through the events and key battles from the Zoids television series . «more»

Zoids Battle Colosseum

Based on the Zoids Card Colosseum arcade game which was built on Taito Type X hardware, Zoids Battle Colosseum on the NDS attempts a faithful conversion and succeeds for the most part. Players take control of a blue-haired lad and a Zoids mecha which attacks by way of janken (rocks-scissors-paper) selections which are triggered by stylus taps. During a battle, players trade janken moves with an opponent - for example, if you tap on the hammer icon and the opponent chooses scissors, your Zoids wins the match and is shown barreling into the enemy or firing a missile attack which damages the enemy. This goes on until one Zoids loses all of its HP. A supporting cast of characters add interactive foil to the adventure and the battles run hot and heavy after the first match. «NCS Game-Notes»
