The Transformers universe has no such qualms as evidenced by today's offering of the Sky Lynx. Essentially two toys in one which can be merged together, Sky Lynx is made up of the following plastic constructs:

» A white Space Shuttle with shiny gold side panels which transforms into a toothy winged robot that bears a likeness to a pterodactyl. The Autobots logo may be seen on the top of both wings in either operating mode. In pterodactyl mode, a snakelike tail extends from the aft.

» A red and blue "armored" vehicle which transforms into a mechanical lynx who's gold noggin is more reminiscent of a jaguar's head than a lynx. The mech stands on four legs which can be posed to and fro.

   The two constructs may be latched together to form a megalithic plastic monstrosity.

Next, the whirring sound of a motor accompanies the sight of a paw which reaches out and snags the coin into the carton. The entire sequence concludes with another "meow" as if the kitty is saying "thanks for the loot." Once the cat's mission is accomplished, the lid of the box slams shut until another coin is laid on top of the fish dish.

The coin bank runs on two "AA" batteries (not included) which are fitted into the hatch on the underside. The bank accepts coins that are 2.70cm in diameter and under. TOYS Game & Watch Mini Solar Keychain - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Video games, MTV, and computers for the masses came into their own in the 1980s and growing up during that period was a wonderful time. Kids who were introduced to computers in the 80s got to experience the internet revolution as it sparked, grew, and took over the world. Along with the technological innovations witnessed between 1980 and 2000, video games of every type, stripe, and class reached computers, consoles, portables, and phones.

Along with platform-based games, there were the Game & Watch dedicated handhelds which were originally released in 1980 by Nintendo. The Game & Watch toys offered players a simple gaming experience with single-minded objectives. For example, in the game Vermin, players had to whack moles while the aptly named Fire demanded that players rescue jumpers who were leaping from a burning building.

It's been a while since the Game & Watch handhelds were released but Takara Tomy is planning a revival. Sort of. The Game & Watch Mini Solar Keychains look like their larger forebears but they're miniature renditions that don't actually play any games. A solar panel is built into each keychain which powers the LCD screen which shows a short action sequence of a Game & Watch game. The buttons don't allow you to play the game and you'll only get to watch whatever happens on screen. The "Left" button is a dummy button and the "Right" button on the handheld may be pressed to change the graphics on screen. They're up to three volumes of Shooting Game Historica already along with matching SP packaging variants. Yujin branches off the Shooting Historica series with a new collection dubbed SR Video Game Robotics which celebrates five mechs from olden video games. The games that the robots hail from aren't ancient but they are from the 16-bit generation with the exception of the "Blast Runner Assault Robot" which is one of four mech types from Sega's RingEDGE coin-op titled Border Break. The quality of the toys, in our opinion, is top-notch as today's gallery photos should convey. When we inspected the mechs yesterday and discovered the love that went into the toys, we tried to order a few more factory cases to have and to hold. Sadly, all Japanese distributors have sold out of this item but a possible S.P. edition of the Robotics may be our chance to order more.

Transformers Device Label Laser Mouse - Import Preorder

A dedicated fan base and a reliable network of vendors has made Takara's ventures fairly profitable. «©NCSX» When one conjures up images of Transformers from the depths of one's memory, visions of Megatron or Bumblebee might waver in the mind's eye. No one really expects Mickey Mouse to appear but yet there he is. A jovial rodent in the cab of Convoy as if he belonged there. To add insult to injury, the Cybertron logo on the trailer has been replaced by a Mickey Mecha logo with saucer-like ears.
The Transformers Mickey figure measures 4" tall and roughly 3" in width. By tucking, shifting, and swiveling parts, the robot may be transformed into a truck with trailer. All preorders received yesterday will ship this afternoon and new orders are welcome.

Transformers MP-7 Thundercracker - New Import

«©NCSX» Takara releases the seventh Transformers Masterpiece figure which is packaged in the large standard MP package. If we recall correctly, Thundercracker is a blue G1 Decepticon (Destron in Japan) that looks like Megatron except that he's colored a regal blue hue.

Thundercracker can transform into a sleek jetfighter with a hatch that opens up and a nose cone which swivels to the side when pushed. Two weapon accessories, a miniature toy pilot, and a display stand are also included in the package.

All preorders have shipped as of last week and new orders are welcome today. Pricing is set at JPY10000 or US$108.90 from NCS.
