The Wolf Fang figure may be detached at the torso area from his normal legs and then plugged into the platform-pelvis to create a spidery version of Wolf Fang that may be wheeled along like a little race car.

    Although the quality of the ships in SGH3 is good, NCS advises taking some precautions when fiddling around with the Soukyugurentai ships since the wing hatches are delicate. They also open only one way so take care to inspect our photos to see how the hatches should be oriented and opened. The other ships are pretty sturdy and unlikely to snap or crack under the weight of your fingers.

TOYS SR Series Sega Gals Capsule Toys (Complete Set of Six) - Import Sale $89.90 set

   Yujin cashes in on the "Gals" phenomenon by focusing their sights squarely on the sexy/cool/cute maidens of Sega soft. The girls in attendance in this first set of figures are (left to right):

Arle Arja is made up of fewer parts but to make up for it, Yujin includes a quartet of Puyos to keep Arle company.

«©NCSX» The Zelda games by Shigeru Miyamoto have captivated children and adults alike for nearly three decades. That kind of staying power and devotion demands respect and merchandising. Takara Tomy pays homage to the Zelda franchise by announcing a collection of 16 pins who feature the game covers of every release in the Zelda library. Every one of them starting from the original Legend of Zelda from the Famicom (aka NES, stateside) to the recent remake of Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 3DS. It's a shame that Skyward Sword won't be included in the collection.

   The Zelda pins are normally sold randomly from gashapon dispensers in Japan which entails a lot of duplicate pins and knob spinning. However, to ease the burden of collecting all 16 pins in the collection, NCS is gathering them all up and selling them in a complete 16-pin pack. New orders are welcome.

TOYS Shooting Game Historica 2 - Import Restock

   A toy vendor in Tokyo was able to locate a few new bags of Yujin's Shooting Game Historica Vol. 2 gashapon which were originally released in the summer of 2008 and we've imported what they had this week. The inventory is brand new and were still packaged in the original cardboard cartons from Yujin. We've assembled some sets of six already this morning and we'll finish them up over the course of the afternoon. Construction and Paint Quality of the Ships (in no particular order)
1) The Opa Opa is one solid block of PVC with two wings that bolt onto its sides. It's a solid interpretation but the red paint on the top of the toy which borders the yellow border is slightly chipped. We're going to touch up our Opa Opa with a bit of matching paint so the little chips are gone.    

2) The nose cone of our Geo Sword was slightly bent to the left (which you'll notice in our photos) but we think it adds character to the ship. All the parts fit together snugly and the paint is good although we do see some slight bleeding from the red band on top of the ship.

3) We have no complaints about the Star Luster ship. It's well constructed and the overall quality is as good as we can expect given the price. The "USGF" lettering on the side of the ship is sharp and the canopy offers a view into the pilot's chair.

4) The design of the R-Gray1 is amazing and it's doubly amazing that Yujin's creative staff was able to create such an intricate toy at gashapon prices. Whenever we open up the "NCS Shmup Museum," this will be one of the centerpieces. On a lit pedestal. Under bulletproof glass.

5) Drab gray coloring makes the R-90 Ragnarok appear... drab. This is the second most complicated ship in the collection with two orbiting Bits and a big Shadow Force weapon all mounted on the circular pedestal. Despite the drab color, the Ragnarok looks great and is very detailed with ailerons, four thrusters, and a transparent blue canopy at the fore.

6) M.U.S.H.A. from Musha Aleste was a surprise yesterday when we received our shipments. We didn't expect it to be included and M.U.S.H.A. is the most complicated toy in Historica Vol. 2. It also towers above all of the other ships from both Historica sets. The construction quality is very good although the"back-pack" part isn't as snug as we would have liked. The coloring is mostly bleed-free - if you look at the chest of M.U.S.H.A., the red trim isn't perfect so we're going to touch that up on our toy.

They're up to three volumes of Shooting Game Historica already along with matching SP packaging variants. Yujin branches off the Shooting Historica series with a new collection dubbed SR Video Game Robotics which celebrates five mechs from olden video games. The games that the robots hail from aren't ancient but they are from the 16-bit generation with the exception of the "Blast Runner Assault Robot" which is one of four mech types from Sega's RingEDGE coin-op titled Border Break. The games and attendant mechs:

The quality of the toys, in our opinion, is top-notch as today's gallery photos should convey. When we inspected the mechs yesterday and discovered the love that went into the toys, we tried to order a few more factory cases to have and to hold. Sadly, all Japanese distributors have sold out of this item but a possible S.P. edition of the Robotics may be our chance to order more.

The blue Raiden mk-IIb was missing in the Shooting Game Historica 3 gashapon version from last month but it is included in the SP set. The mk-IIb is painted with a pretty pastel blue color and each of the other five ships also has a color or model variant. The default color for the Soukyugurentai S.O.Q-004 ship is red and its variant color is pastel-blue with shades of gray. The orange submarine from In the Hunt is also available in a light-blue model and the variant Ceaser features red trim instead of blue trim in the default model. The quality of the ships is admirable for the price point that they're offered at and we're pleased with Yujin's level of craftsmanship. Due to time constraints this morning (translation: Monster Hunter 3 arrived), a photo gallery of the original and variant ships will be posted on Monday morning. Shooting Game Historica 3 - New Import, Split Shipments

©NCSX» Over the past year, the Shooting Game Historica series of toys has been some of NCS' most popular products. We get to sell the gashapon sets which are packaged in plastic capsules and then we also peddle the "SP" re-renditions which are boxed in fancy cardboard containers. It's sort of like selling the same toys twice. Yujin released the third set of Shooting Game Historica toys last month which feature ships from another six games as follows:

Please note that Yujin only shipped the Raiden mk-II in red and canceled production of the blue variant toy. The Kaitei Daisensou sub is accompanied by a miniature pink sub (single piece construction). New features on some of the ships are movable parts - for example, hatches on the submarine open up to reveal weaponry and the Ceaser's cockpit transforms.

NCS received the first batch of Shooting Game Historica Vol. 3 yesterday and preorders have begun shipping out. Please note however that some shipments of this particular toy haven't arrived yet although they should be delivered within the next few days. Since we haven't received the entire shipment of toys yet, we're holding off on the obligatory photo gallery since filling preorders takes priority.

Per normal NCS gashapon sales convention, we're gathering together all six ships and supplying them in complete sets at US$28.90.

NCS expects the S.P. edition of Shooting Game Historica Vol. 3 to be released next month and preorders will ship roughly 1-2 weeks after they have shipped from Yujin in the Japanese marketplace.

Animal Crossing Watashi no Uchi Collection - New Import

«©NCSX» Yujin releases a new set of Animal Crossing "House" gashapon toys which feature the characters of AXing and their houses. Checking our own sets of previous AXing House toys from yesteryear, we notice that the pieces of furniture such as the pineapple bed, the watermelon table, and the robot entertainment system are rehashed from the earlier Animal Crossing toys but the three houses feature a new and snazzy design.

Each figure measures 3cm (1.18") tall and the dimensions of each house are 5 x 6 x 5cm (1.96 x 2.36 x 1.96"). Each figure can be placed inside his/her respective home along with the pieces of furniture that are included with the particular toy. There's three toys with characters, furniture, and houses and another two toys which only contain two Animal Crossing characters and four little bits of furniture and tidbits. New orders are welcome to ship at US$28.90 per complete set of five figures from NCS.

Seventh Dragon Desktop Mascot - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» In the NDS Seventh Dragon game, a gathering of hero archetypes joined together to battle dragons. There were seven classes of characters in the game but only five of the female persuasion are present in Yujin's upcoming collection of Desktop Mascots as follows:

Yujin announces Shooting Game Historica Vol. 3 and others

«©NCSX» The third Shooting Game Historica set was announced overnight and we'll start preorders tomorrow. Yujin has only released a prototype sales sheet thus far but we'll update the image once we receive color images. Ships featured in the third set include the submarine from In the Hunt, the tank from Granada X, and the mech from Wolf Fang. The S.O.Q- 004 Toryu from Soukyugurentai is also featured in the set. To correct an earlier posting, it appears that only the Toryu will be produced. We'll clarify the full preorder details tomorrow since two ships from Raiden are also included in SGH Vol. 3.

Since Yujin appears to be releasing the ships in some sort of chronological order, we might not see the Judge Spear or the Silvergun until SGH Vol. 4. The toys are normally sold randomly in Japan inside gashapon machines but we're gathering together all six ships into a complete set so our customers can collect them all without having to suffer the pain and annoyance of unwanted duplicates.

The Shooting Historica Gashapon Vol. 2 toy is a new and authentic Japanese product. NCS only stocks original and official products from authorized dealers in Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States.

Price Change
Fuel surcharges were assessed on our shipment of this product and NCS is raising the price for new orders to US$26.90 from $25.00. If you preordered or submitted a new order for the toys prior to August 14, 2008, we will honor the original price of US$25.00 for the complete set of six.
