Kenka Banchou 3: Zenkoku Seiha - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» The heroes of the previous Kenka Bancho games have shuffled off to greener pastures. We imagine Yasuo from the first game to be a shopkeeper nowadays, peddling individually wrapped pieces of sushi at JPY100 a pop. Tomoya from the second game is probably still a punk but one with a job. At the local "hostess" bar. Earning his keep as muscle.

The two earlier Kenka Bancho games were cult. They didn't reach the critical mass that would have engendered a wave of merchandising deals but the games were popular enough to ensure another release in order to bring the series to trilogy status. The new protagonist in Kenka Bancho is a fresh-faced youth named Takashi Sakamoto who's living on the wrong side of the school yard. He's tough, fast, and has got a serious problem with authority figures. To that end, he gets into fights with other toughs and bristles in the presence of teachers. Takashi does have one redeeming quality however. He's ambitious. He wants to be the top dog among all the gangsters in all the high schools across all 47 prefectures. To reach his lofty goal, Takashi battles other bruisers in a bid to become the king of all Japan.

Similar to the previous games in the series, Takashi can battle multiple enemies at once and engage in Menchi-Beam contests. Errands, missions, and objectives also pop up from time to time to give players a bit of variety in the action.

Patapon 2 Don-Chaka - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» After conquering adversity from the Zigatons the first time around, the Patapon Tribe is back for another lively rhythm action game where the wee warriors literally march, fight, and defend themselves to the beat of their own drum. At the outset of the game, the tribe is seen hammering together a boat and getting ready to set sail. A storybook flips open which chronicles the events after the original Patapon. The tome then goes on to show the boat sailing across stormy seas when they're attacked by a great octopus. Things don't go well during the sea battle and the tribulations of the Patapon Tribe begin anew...

Game Features
»
Over 90 missions that take place on varying types of terrain
» Roughly 500 items, weapons, and armor to equip the Patapon soldiers
» New drumbeats in addition to the attack, magic, and retreat beats
» Four player cooperative gameplay for a Patapon team experience
» Seven mini-games and roughly 20 hours of gameplay

The game features over 20 bosses to engage across 60 stages and new Patapon characters for a total of 22 types to utilize. New Patapon heroes include the bird-mounted Toripon, the Superman-ish Heropon who wears a lightning bolt across his chest, and a magic-user known as Malopon who bolster the troops with specialized attacks. Patapon 2 also introduces eggs where up to 30 types may be carried around and eventually hatched.

The preorder details mention that the first production will include a copy of Sora no Kiseki Material Collection Portable Mini for the PSP which contains music tracks, a tv commercial, PSP wallpaper, and a preview of the PSP game titled "Zwei!"

Naruto Shippuuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX3 - New Import

«©NCSX» The spiky-blonde ninja named Naruto wreaks havoc in another fighting game which follows the 2D conventions of previous Naruto EX games. The Akatsuki criminal organization hangs in the background once again where the group's powerful members provide adversity and lofty challenges to Naruto and friends.

Similar to Naruto GNT EX2, the new Wii Naruto game is a 2D fighting game that uses 3D backgrounds to provide depth. Although the combatants battle on a 2D plane, they can perform sidestepping evasive maneuvers to avoid oncoming attacks. Players control the action through a combination of the Nunchuk and the Wii Remote where the analog thumbstick moves the hero and the D-Pad on the Remote is pressed down to perform attacks.

There's also a Story Mode where Naruto and cohorts run around a 3D maze and battle crowds of henchmen as well as the members of the Akatsuki. The Story Mode starts off with Naruto and Sai but upon completing the first maze, Tenten and Rock Lee kick off the next maze. A Tutorial Mode teaches beginners basic commands and moves.

Hataraku Hit: Hard Working People - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» A meteor is hurtling from deep space and on a collision course with the planet. That's not good. To prepare for the potential deep impact, gamers must play 50 mini-games to earn enough coin to save the world. Games include carrot plucking, rhythm exercises, and other short yet sweet Wii Remote waving exercises.

At the outset of the game, a short introductory sequence shows the space agency "NAZA" on high alert after their satellites detect a heavenly body that's headed towards the Earth. After the President is apprised of the situation, the NAZA station monitoring the meteor is destroyed. That leaves a family of amateur astronomers to deal with the threat. With the help of the Hataraku Help Wanted section and a TV host, the family plays an assortment of mini-games to save the planet.

Three mini-games are playable but another 47 games are eventually unlocked. The first three games are: A carrot plucking exercise, a fishing expedition, and a package delivery game where parcels are handed over to anxious customers. All of the games used a combination of the Nunchuk and Wii Remote where simple jerky motions are the key to success.

Willy Wonka 400% Kubrick Toy Figure - Clearance

NCS Product Synopsis - Original Update: December 29, 2006
«©NCSX» Johnny Depp's pasty-faced interpretation of Willy Wonka from the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie was unsettling and somewhat artificial looking. Rigid in posture and animated with facial tics, Willy was/is a strange guy.

Medicom takes a stab at recreating Depp's Wonka in 400% Kubrick form and succeeds for the most part. Fitted with a top hat and natty purple jacket, Willy Wonka carries a cane with swirly top and looks the part of a reclusive confectioner. The figure measures 28cm (11.02") tall and features blue eyes and bright red lips. Similar to other 400% Kubricks, the arms and legs of the Willy Wonka figure are slightly posable.

Sale Offering: NCS' remaining inventory of the Willy Wonka 400% Kubrick is new, factory sealed, and in excellent condition. Pricing is set at US$58.90 per unit which includes "free" shipping by UPS Ground within the continental United States.

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe - New Import, Restock Soon

«©NCSX» In Midway's Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, gamers finally get to answer daunting questions such as, "Can Superman beat Raiden?" and "What happens when Batman meets Kano?" These questions and more will be answered when players get their hands on MK vs DCU for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America and Europe. Generally, games are the same in both territories but there'll be censoring in the U.S. version. To achieve a "Teen" rating in the States, Midway had to edit the Joker's gunshot-in-the-face fatality and Kitana's fan-to-forehead-impaling fatality. Seeing such heinous fictional acts would apparently traumatize the youth of North America.

Europeans are apparently a more permissive lot as their version of MK vs DCU won't be censored. Both fatalities made it to the production version of the game which arrived yesterday. NCS is currently accepting new orders for the second shipment of MK vs DCU which is scheduled to arrive in the first week of December 2008.

Flower, Sun, and Rain - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» Earlier this year, NCS took delivery of the Japanese Nintendo DS conversion of Flower, Sun, and Rain - a game that was originally released on the Playstation 2 in 2001. The European (English) version arrived yesterday. The protagonist of the adventure is a detective named Sumio Mondo who gets caught up in a bizarre time loop on an island resort.

Detective Sumio Mondo has been hired by the manager of a resort known as Flower, Sun, and Rain which sits in the middle of the Lospass island paradise. According to the manager Ed Macalister, there's been a terrorist threat at Lospass Airport but once Sumio enters the resort, he's badgered by hotel guests who request his assistance. Tied up with the rabble, Sumio misses his trip to the airport and a plane explodes while flying over Lospass...

Hirameki Action Chibikko Wagyan no Ookina - JPN Preorder

«©NCSX» Namco revives a little dragon beastie first seen in a series of Famicom, Super Famicom, and Game Gear games from the early 90s. According to our historical database, there were 12 Chibikko Wagyan games released between 1989 and 1994.

The upcoming NDS release is a side scrolling platform action game where
players control a green dragon who jumps, runs up walls, and attacks enemies with its voice. The dragon's roar is powerful enough to paralyze and incapacitate hapless foes. The stages upon which the dragon jumps and romp upon include a tropical isle, a prehistoric expanse, underground ruins, and more. A collection of mini games are also playable including a competitive Concentration exercise where players flip over cards on a 4x4 grid to match a cat, rocket, squid, and other items. Preorders are welcome to ship on January 29, 2009.

Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor - JPN Preorder

«©NCSX» Tokyo has been marked for annihilation in 7 days time and that level of carnage really can't come to pass. To stop the impending destruction, a heroic lad who's still in high school makes a deal with an assemblage of demons to bring Tokyo back from the brink.

Players control a to-be-named protagonist who's equipped with a special portable gadget that allows him to recruit demons into his party. By using the power of demons under his control, the player's party battles malevolent devils as well as rampaging Japanese citizens who have lost their grip on reason and have begun rioting. Human cohorts in the game include
Atsuro Kihara and Yuzu Tani who are fellow students and friends of the protagonist. Preorders are welcome to ship on January 15, 2009 at JPY4980 or US$48.90 from NCS.

Kanu Unchou Solid Mouse Pad - JPN Preorder

«©NCSX» From what we've seen of Kanu Unchou, NCS can surmise that she's a very healthy girl. It's unfortunate however that her healthy image has been exploited by assorted purveyors who have used her robustness in questionable ways. With that in mind, it is with a sense of reticence that NCS starts preorders for the Kanu Unchou Solid Mouse Pad. The word "Solid" in the product title refers to Kanu's ample bosom which serves as a resting pad for one's wrist when manipulating a mouse.

Similar to the Yoko Ritona Solid Mouse Pad, the Kanu Mouse Pad is wrapped in a stretchy and satiny material which allows for mouse gliding movement. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late February 2009.

Nendroid-Petit The Idolmaster Stage 01 - JPN Preorder

«©NCSX» The pop-idol songstresses of Idolmaster are invariably chipper, ebullient, and tend to flash million dollar smiles. The girls can also belt out J-Pop vocals with the best of them since they've been trained under the tutelage of doting handlers. What happens however when the girls are shrunk and Nendroid-ized by the folks at Good Smile Company?

For one, they're a lot cuter. Miki Hoshii in her Petit Nendroid incarnation is a sassy blonde moppet without equal and
Ritsuko Akizuki looks like a baby librarian. Five characters are featured in the upcoming Nendroid Petit set and appear in two versions - one in street clothes and the other in pink holiday dresses. As usual, Miki gets special treatment and she appears in three different figures. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late March 2009 at JPY6800 or US$68.90 per factory sealed box of 12 figures.

Gurren-lagann Yoko Space Look & Gunbee - JPN Preorder

«©NCSX» After her stint as a member of Team Dai-Gurren, Yoko Ritona decided to part ways with Simon and Nia to work as an elementary school teacher on a small isle. While there, Yoko takes on the moniker of Yomako and gets around by motoring along on a hovercycle known as the Gunbee. After a rescue mission to save Simon, Yoko eventually returns to the small isle as the principal of the school.

Previous sculptures of Yoko Ritona have focused on her days as a member of Team Gurren but Movic's upcoming
Gurren-lagann Yoko Space Look & Gunbee is based on her Yomako phase. The PVC figure is set to 1/5 scale and measures 25cm or 9.84" in length. Yoko straddles the Gunbee and wears a 2-piece bikini and a sheer gossamer-like shawl that's probably a raincoat of some sort. A pair of orange shades and white circus leggings complete the left-of-center ensemble.

Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late February 2009 at JPY13800 or US$149 from NCS. Due to the size of the figure, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the continental United States.

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 for GBA - Clearance

Original Update: May 30, 2001
«©NCSX» When Midway released R2R Boxing: Round 2 across a plethora of platforms in 2001, NCS is fairly certain that the GBA version was an afterthought. There's not much of a challenge in the boxing action and the game isn't anything we'd stare at for minutes on end. We consider the GBA version as more of a collectible item for gamers who are interested in having every single version of the R2R game in their collections.

Sale Offering: NCS' remaining inventory of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 for the Gameboy Advance is new, factory sealed, and in excellent condition. Pricing is set at US$22.90 per copy which includes "free" shipping by USPS Media Mail within the U.S.

Face Bank Dodeka - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» The original Face Bank was released in Japan about a year ago by Takada/Bandai and sales have been strong. The piggy bank features the flattened face of a simian creature of some sort which wraps around a plastic wedge. The eyes embedded on the front are optical sensors which trigger the mouth to start "chewing" whenever motion is detected. Once the Face Bank is masticating, drop coins into its mouth so that it seemingly chews them up and deposits them into its gullet. It's not only creepy but a bit surreal as well to watch Face Bank do its thing. A number of color variants have since reached market to appeal to a wide range of sensibilities and preferences.

That was the old Face Bank. Takada releases a larger version which they're calling Face Bank Dodeka. Whereas the original measured an equal 97cm in height, width, and length, the new Dodeka variant measures 140cm all around and includes a voice mechanism so that it'll belch and mutter various utterances which make it even more creepy. The new Face Bank can store up to 180 coins that measure at least 2.6cm in diameter which means quarter, nickels, and dimes will all fit. Two color variants are available and shipping today - a red Face Bank and an off-white version.

By way of coincidence and circumstance, Hongo eventually joins Kanu in her bid to unite China.

Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes Double Pack - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» Continuing their recent spate of twofers, Capcom bundles together two Sengoku Basara games for the Wii at the reasonable price of JPY3800 or US$40.90 from NCS:

Sengoku Basara 2
During the Sengoku era of Japan's history, warring states set the stage for constant episodes of war and unrelenting bloodshed. As a general serving a clan, players lead troops into battle and clash with the opposing forces of another clan in fast-paced slashing action.

Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes
The Warring States are never ending in the minds of men and game publishers who base their action-packed games on that fractious period of Japanese history. Capcom's Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes takes players back into a time when warlords ruled the land and sought to topple each other by way of force and the drumbeat of war. A total of 30 warlords are featured in the game along with 64 stages of blistering action split into six game modes including Heroes Story, Gaiden Story, and Basara Tournament where fighters engage in one-on-one bouts.

Lineage II Human Mage 1/8 Scale Figure - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» Mages in olden adventure games from the 80s were generally male, wrinkled, and looked a lot like Gandalf from the Hobbit. An old school mage also wore robes and carried around a wooden staff that was as old and gnarly as he was. It wasn't a pretty sight.

NCsoft wouldn't have any of that when developing the Lineage MMORPG. Their mages would be young. Supple. Half nude. With sandy blonde hair. Mages in Lineage would actually be attractive and break from the staid conventions of yore.

Good Smile Company has released the second figure in their Lineage II toy line and collectors are treated to the vision of a Human Mage who works her magic with a "metal" staff and edgy apparel that we can only describe as medieval beach wear. Her eyes are light-blue and gloss shines from her lips. Ms Mage's left leg is painted to appear as if she's wearing hosiery while her right leg is adorned with a blue-colored legging. She rocks a pair of gold-gilded blue boots that matches her ensemble. The Mage figure is set to 1/8 scale and measures 22cm or 8.66" tall. The sculpture is by
Nakao Yoshimasa who did a beautiful job and basically made us instant fans of his work.

Tuttuki Bako - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» In the far-flung future, NCS envisions a world of entertainment where reality meshes with virtual reality to produce immersive experiences for users. We're talking about feeling, smelling, and tasting in addition to seeing and hearing so that you're really there in some digital labyrinth or smoky tavern. Before that happens however, the consumer product industry has to take baby steps to the promised land.

A few weeks ago, NCS stocked the Cyber Maid Alice product which featured a virtual desktop maid. That was a baby step. Next up, Bandai's Tuttuki Bako which features interactive digital objects that respond to external stimuli. Simply poke an index finger into the side of the gadget and you'll be able to push around a little panda, disturb a girl, cause an octopus to squirt ink, and perform other simple actions. A sample movie may be viewed on Bandai's website.

Nendroid Shakugan no Shana - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» Shana of Shakugan no Shana fame isn't human. She's really a Flame Haze that's been embodied into the frame of a teenager who goes to class, interacts with classmates, and looks very much like an average schoolgirl. An average schoolgirl who carries a sword and finally gets inducted into Good Smile Company's popular Nendroid line-up of toys.

The package contains a posable Shana figure in her school outfit with a default face that features big eyes and a sliver for a mouth. A sprig of crimson hair pops out from the top of her head Naru Narusegawa style. Two additional faces are included in the package - one where Shana is squinting her eyes and pouting and another where she's wide-eyed and snarling with her mouth. Four extra hands are included along with a sword accessory and a necklace which may be slung around her neck. The figure measures 10cm or 3.93" in height and is fully painted and ready for display. Preorders have shipped already on Friday of last week and new orders are welcome to ship today.
