In Alphamax's new Ikkitousen XX rendition of Kanu, she's melancholy and resting awkwardly on a battle-damaged stairway and leaning against a shattered wall of bricks. The "Last Battle" version of the Ikkitousen heroine depicts Kanu as seemingly resigned and dressed in a battle-damaged shirt which is split entirely down the middle. Although Kanu's shirt is ruined, her stockings and skirt are untouched by the rigors of conflict.

Toy manufacturer Daiki Kougyo has opened up preorders for a new Kanu Unchou Bathing Figure which is based on an illustration by Miyazawa Tsutomu. The figure is sculpted to 1/6 scale and measures 27cm or 10.62" in length while the bathtub spans 29cm or 11.41" which is enough to capture Kanu comfortably. The sculpture is by Hiroshi Sato (Overdard) and Kanu's completely nude although her hair has been rendered into strategic strips along the bosom area to maintain some semblance of decorum. «©NCSX» NCS inspected the new Kanu Unchou Perfect Body Version thoroughly but we couldn't really discern what made this particular version the "perfect body" as opposed to the myriad incarnations of Kanu we've sold through the years. Were those earlier Kanu figures "imperfect," "ill proportioned," or "flawed" in some way? We'll never know for sure. Perfect Body Kanu has candy resin skin and an hourglass figure that might be deemed perfect by most standards. Women hate her and men stare a little too long for comfort.

Alphamax's Kanu coldcast figure is sculpted to 1/8 scale and measures 22cm or 8.66" tall. Kanu is basically nude but she wears a pair of skivvies below while two strategically placed strands of hair provide coverings for her bosom. «©NCSX» Kanu Unchou's popularity and her consequent pervasiveness in the Japanese toy market has been taken for granted for a few years now. Manufacturers and vendors expect Kanu to sell well to eager fans without much resistance since that's how things are supposed to be with anything related to Ms Unchou. That changed a bit this year.

NCS has noticed a slower pace of Kanu releases in 2009 but Japanese manufacturer Eyes Project has announced a new 1/6 scale coldcast figure which depicts Kanu as a Miko or shrine maiden. Kanu is dressed in regulation-issue Mike garb with the familiar red and white color scheme. Kanu wields the Blue Dragon Crescent Blade in her hands while her feet are fitted with tabi socks. Kanu's hair is a whippy lash that seemingly billows in the wind. That kind of craftsmanship is to be revered and honored because it isn't easy to make hair look like that. From afar, Kanu almost looks like Koyori of Sengoku Ace fame except Kanu's physique is slimmer and more athletic. Koyori's body type can best be described as "Rubenesque."

©NCSX» From what we've seen of Kanu Unchou, NCS can only surmise that she's a very healthy girl. It's unfortunate however that her healthy image has been exploited by assorted purveyors who have used her robustness in questionable ways. With that in mind, it is with a sense of reticence that NCS imports the Kanu Unchou Solid Mouse Pad for general sale. The word "Solid" in the product title refers to Kanu's ample bosom which serves as a resting pad for one's wrist when manipulating a mouse.
