BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» BlazBlue is a recent coin-op release which is winging its way to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer. The original game was built on Taito Type-X2 hardware and featured the use of four buttons to pound out attacks. Join Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, and Noel Vermillion as they face off against a motley assortment of fighters who seem oddly familiar. If you look at the design of Iron Tagar, he looks awfully like Potemkin from Guilty Gear X while Bang Shishigami is sorta like Sol-Badguy. If we squint, Haku=Men could be mistaken for Justice. The character similarities shouldn't be much of surprise however since BlazBlue is the successor of the Guilty Gear X franchise from ArcSys.
Toshimichi Mori is the lead designer for BlazBlue and 12 fighters are featured in the game who fight on sharp and brilliantly colored 2D stages. The presentation hearkens back to Arc System's GGX series with snappy animation, bold voices, and feverish action that's executed with nary a hiccup. Three buttons are used for weak, medium, and strong attacks along with a fourth "Drive" button which pulses out a super attack. Preorders for the PS3 or the Xbox 360 version are welcome to ship on June 25, 2009.

Dissidia Final Fantasy - New Import, Ships Today

«©NCSX» When two gods have enmity between each other, they don't go to fisticuffs by themselves. No, they're gods and are loathe to soil their robes with brute behavior. When gods go to war, they summon underlings and minions to do their bidding. In the case of the gods named Cosmos and Chaos, the heroes and villains of the Final Fantasy games are brought in to do some fierce 3D fighting on their behalf.
Cosmos' champions are the heroes from Final Fantasy games such as the Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy I, Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII, and Tidus from Final Fantasy X. On the side of Chaos are the villains of the Final Fantasy games including the Emperor from Final Fantasy II, Exdeath from Final Fantasy V, and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII. It's a mostly male affair with only a couple of heroines such as Tina Branford (FFVI) in the playable cast though we think Payne would have kicked ass. There is a secret heroine from FFXI who can be unlocked by meeting certain conditions while playing.
At the outset of the game, only ten fighters from the heroes side are playable. In our test game this morning, we pitted Onion Knight from Final Fantasy III against Squall Leonhart of FFVIII fame and selected the eight stage which features a bunch of craggy platforms against a hazy aquamarine backdrop. The heroes can jump from platform to platform to attack but since they're being supported by gods, they're able to jump twice in midair and attack while airborne. Light trails and clanging special effects provide visual fireworks to spice up every battle. «Shots»

Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper - New Import, In Stock
The cast members of Fate Stay Night are hardened warriors capable of doling out a lot of hurt. What happens when they're shrunken down into chibi-sized renditions of themselves? One obvious result is they're a lot smaller. However, their heads remain fairly big when compared to their shrunken bodies. One thing won't change however - the newly minted munchkins still dole out the hurt.Gamers who enjoyed last year's Fate/Tiger Colosseum will find more of the same fighting action in the sequel. The basic gist pits two to four fighters on a stage and the goal is to knock the opponent(s) out and garner a higher hit ranking than the others. Special power-ups (Tiger Ball with stripes) may be collected for extra fighting oomph so that the fighters can bolster their offensive repertoire. When roaming the battlefield against three COM-controlled combatants, the tie-ups are usually 1-on-1 even though there are four fighters on screen. It's just easier to fight one opponent at a time although breaking in on a 1-on-1 smackfest is possible.
In addition to the 3D fighting action, Capcom includes an Extra Mode which contains character data, event scenes, BGM, and illustrations to check out. Everything's locked upon starting the game however and you'll have to work and play to get that data viewable. For players who need some practice mashing buttons, the Tiger Dojo mode gives pointers and tips on handling opponents. «Game Notes and Photo Gallery»

Custom Beat Battle: Draglade 2 - New Import, In Stock
The four heroes of the original CBB: Draglade game return for another 2D fighting tournament where conventional attacks are mixed with mighty elemental blows to dole out the hurt. The wrinkle in Draglade lies in the Custom Beat System where players create a combo routine on a track and then execute the steps involved to ignite rapid-fire attacks against an opponent. The routine's steps are displayed on a gauge located on the lower-right corner of the screen. As the beats are executed, your fighter performs a staccato of attacks, slashes, and perhaps a finishing blow to cap the routine.Over 100 types of attacks are available to the characters for a wide range of grappling moves, smackdowns, and projectile blasts. In addition to the original cast of Hibito, Kairu, Daichi, and Guy, six new warriors enter the Draglade tournament including an elderly bald-headed miscreant who can spit his false teeth out for a projectile attack. Similar to the first game, every character in the game may be customized with different color schemes for a unique look. Bonus: All orders for Draglade 2 will include a bonus pair of headphones in 1:1 ratio.

Samurai Michi - Import Preorder
Playstation 2 players got first crack at Samurai Michi aka Way of the Samurai back in 2002. In the game, a ronin named Kenji finds himself embroiled in a war between the Kurou Clan, the Akadama Clan, and the Japanese authorities. The three factions are all trying to control a sliver of real estate known as Rokkotsu Pass for their own respective reasons. Amidst the tensions, Kenji may lend his sword hand and samurai talents to any of the sides involved in the conflict. By choosing to fight for one side or another, Kenji basically decided his own destiny and creates unique drama all by his lonesome. The Playstation Portable conversion of Samurai Michi slated to ship later this year is pretty much a direct port of the game but an ad hoc fighting mode has been added to the game options. The publisher also mentions "additional game elements" but it's unclear what those new elements would be at this point. A movie preview of Samurai Michi 3 (PS3) will also be included for fans to check out. Preorders are welcome to ship on September 18, 2008 at JPY3800 or US$38.90 from NCS.

Ikkitousen: Eloquent Fist Regular Edition - Import Preorder
The girls of Ikkitousen are back in a 2D punch 'n kick action game that's somewhat reminiscent of the coin-operated Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon game. Rather than releasing a barebones side scrolling brawler, Marvelous is going beyond the call of duty and will include a sizable amount of animated content in the game which chronicles the story of the Ikkitousen fighters. Eloquent Fist also features a fair amount of fan service in the form of wobbling boobs that shudder, fragile clothing that shatters, and more Kanu Unchou than you can shake a stick at.NCS started preorders for the limited edition of the game yesterday but reservations for the regular edition are welcome today. Pricing is set at JPY4800 or US$48.90 from NCS.

Arcana Heart - Preorder
Yuki Enterprises (Examu) released Arcana Heart in Japanese arcades towards the very end of 2006 and found a ready and willing audience amongst the gaming cognoscenti. Firstly, it's a capable fighting game with a bevy of moves, combos, aerial maneuvering, and move cancels out the wazoo. Secondly, the cast of characters is entirely female. Make that attractive females who can choose their elemental powers by way of ten tarot cards which depict a beast such as Bhanri or a deity-like lassie like Partinias. The main character is a redhead named Aino Heart and she's joined by 11 other fighters such as the blue-haired Tsuzura Saki, Tokinomiya Kamui, Kasuga Maori, Mei-Fang, Konoha, Lilica Felchenerow, Liselotte Achenbach, Yasuzumi Yoriko, Fiona Mayfield, Mildred Avalone, and Daidohji Kira. When fighting, the bouts generally take place on the ground but aerial attacks can send the two girls way up into the air as the playfield lofts higher to take in the action. The girls seem to be designed for eventual transition to the merchandising realm of figures, toys, keychains, blankets, etc.
The controls consist of a joystick and four buttons, which will make a prefect port, control-wise, to the Playstation 2 on October 11. We'll check out how true the game hews to the arcade original once we get our grubby hands on it. Preorders are welcome today.

Invitations in white envelopes sealed with a crimson imprint are sent out once again, calling upon the world's mightiest fighters to join the eleventh King of Fighters tournament. A Gallery Mode brims with full-color artwork and sketches while gamers in search of a challenge may hook up with other fighters in the Network Match Mode. Two new systems are introduced in KOF XI - the first is the Judgment System which decides the winner not by the amount of HP remaining but by the quality of your attacks and combinations. The second new system is the use of Skill Stocks which deplete when evasive moves are pulled off.
Upon starting the game, 33 fighters are shown in the character selection screen which are grouped in four batches of six along with a batch of nine in the middle of the screen.
