NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Eschatos is a Greek word which means "the last" and can be properly used to refer to the beginning of space beyond the bounds of the Earth. Now that word etymology is out of the way, the game Eschatos tells the story of an invasion from outer space. In the year 21XX, waves of UFOs descend upon the Earth in an aggressive manner. To confront the threat, a single space fighter is sent to defend the planet from all-out attack. Why only one space fighter to face an entire armada of UFOs? Well, because it's got skills to attack enemies through 26 stages.

   Said space fighter throws out two types of shots: a powerful "Forward Shot" which fires directly in front of the ship and a "Wide Shot" which unleashes streams of lasers in a 90º arc in front of the ship. The wide shot covers more area but is less concentrated than the forward shot. In addition to its offensive capabilities, the ship can also block enemy shots by activating a temporary shield. When the shield is on, the ship cannot fire shots but the shield destroys enemies upon contact. 

   Two bonus games are included on the Eschatos DVD as follows:

» Judgement Silversword - Vertical shooter developed by M-KAI
» Cardinal Sins - An updated version of Judgement Silversword

   Judgement Silversword was released on the Wonderswan portable but Cardinal Sins was only available as a download for the WonderWitch kit.

   Preorders for Xbox Eschatos are welcome to ship on March 24, 2011. The first printing of the game includes a bonus CD soundtrack.

«©NCSX» It's been a few years since the zombie-killing sisters Aya and Saki swung their swords. The undead are stirring once again however and Aya, Saki, the policewoman Anna, and two additional woman warriors are called into battle once again.

   Oneechanbara Special pits the girls against hordes of zombies who raise their arms and attack from all directions. By using sword handling skills, Aya and her compatriots dismember their adversaries with slashes and chops which cause blood and gore to eject in splotches. That's serious business. A sword is standard equipment when it comes to gutting zombies but over 300 types of weapons may be used and synthesized during the course of the carnage. Oneechanbara Special supports ad hoc mode for 2-player action. Preorders are welcome to ship on March 24, 2011.

«©NCSX» The summer day started like any other summer day. People on their way to work, students on their daily commute, and people enjoying their breakfast before facing the daily grind. The day takes a violent turn when a monstrous earthquake shatters the city and leaves it in shambles. Buildings have collapsed, streets are splintered, and danger lies everywhere.

   The protagonist in Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 is a male or female student who was on his/her way to school before the devastation. As a lucky survivor, the protagonist has to make his way out of the city but it won't be easy. Obstacles are everywhere and danger is around every turn. That's not all either - a girl's got to eat to maintain her strength and food must be found in order to survive. Since the earthquake was such a big one, aftershocks rumble throughout the city to make it even hairier. Preorders are welcome to ship on March 10, 2011 at JPY6800 or US$76.90. Early reservations ship with a 3-minute timer/weight for Cup 'o Noodles. Really.

NDS SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - Shadow or Light - New Import

«©NCSX» SaGa 3 was originally released on the Japanese Gameboy (black and white O.G.) in December 1991. That was the dark ages of portable gaming when players had to squint at the monochrome GBA screen and attempt to battle monsters at the same time. It wasn't pretty but fast forward 20 years and SaGa 3 is brand new again. 

   The Nintendo DS remake of SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - Shadow or Light is easily viewable on the lit screen of the Nintendo DS and the visuals are rendered in cel-shaded 3D which is a far cry from the 2D flatness of the original. In the game, players take on the role of a spiky-haired lad who leads a group of heroes on a time-traveling quest to stop a world-ruining flood. In addition to the visual and aural upgrades in the remake, a new NPC named "Wanderer" helps the hero's party out during the course of the adventure.

NEWS General Updates

Arcana Heart 3 - Remaining shipments on Monday «©NCSX» Due to a late flight out of Tokyo, please note that the remaining shipments of Arcana Heart 3 will arrive on Monday. The NYC snow doesn't appear to have been a factor since the origin of the delay was in Japan.

Fast Striker    NGDev contacted us yesterday about the delay. Hopefully the shipment arrives later this afternoon and we'll be able to process and ship preorders.

NCSX.COM down    The server that runs www.ncsx.com went down last night at 3:29AM EST. We think the battery died again even though we replaced it just a couple of months ago. The colocation center person there thinks the server is draining batteries quicker than usual so we'll look into that. In the meantime, we'll probably move the entire site to another server today so it might be down until tomorrow morning. The shopping sites at www.ncsxshop.com and www.shopncsx.com are up along with the blog.
