«©NCSX» First there was the "Race Queen" in Japanese motorsport culture - busty model-types who appeared in racing venues to enhance the visuals. Next comes the "Beach Queen" which might be defined as follows:

Beach Queen \bēch kwēn\ (Noun) A high-ranking woman with social proof and a robust bosom who may be found (most times) at sandy geological outposts which abut the ocean.

   The honor for the first figure to appear in the Love Plus Beach Queens toy series is Nene Anegasaki who's in the process of removing her denim shorts. The figure is sculpted to 1/10 scale and measures 16cm or 6.29" tall and an extra face is included to change Nene's expression. One point of articulation is located on Nene's neck so her head may be tilted.

   A powerful collaboration with Academy! Following on from Gallian, Promax is now available in 1/72 scale!!!

   The 1984 anime series "Armored Trooper Votoms" was hugely popular for its unique science fiction worldview that was reminiscent of medieval fantasy. The Promaxis, the main armored soldier of the Mardal Army who is the enemy of the main character Jordi Border and his friends, is now available as a 1/72 scale plastic model.
 
  The kit is a fully movable model, with polycaps used for each joint. This is a very valuable product, as we have not had the opportunity to produce it in a larger size until now. This product was jointly developed by Academy and Wave.

TOYS Persona 4: Kuma Figure - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» Japanese manufacturer Wave pays tribute to Persona 4 by launching a series of figures which debut with a non-scale Kuma toy. Kuma is the reverse teardrop shaped bear whose color scheme is reminiscent of something that might be found in the circus. Big eyes, a wisp of a smile and a tiny nose are found on Kuma's half-moon face whilst two blue ears and a tuft of blue hair protrude through the top of Kuma's head.

Kuma's body is made of PVC and ABS but note that the zipper that serves as a point of demarcation between his body and head is made of soft vinyl. A zipper tab sticks out from the back of Kuma's "neck" but it's non-functional and is just there for show. Since the figure is nonscale, Wave decided to make Kuma petite and he measures a mere 9cm or 3.54" tall. A yellow disc is included with Kuma for display purposes. »Photos«

Mari Makinami Illustrious Plug Suit Figure - Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» A new character in an animated serial has to be relatively ingrained into the mind space of target audiences before a toy manufacturer sculpts him/her into a PVC figure. That's what we've observed over the years but it's not a hard rule that's followed by every company. Maybe Mari's special since she's a new character in the legendary Evangelion franchise but we would have preferred a little time and leeway before she made it to the toy market. The first figure featuring Mari comes courtesy of Wave but we're a little leery of how well she'll do in a fickle and soft market. She looks good enough overall with clean lines and colors but her face looks a little "off" which we attribute to her Mona Lisa-esque smile. Mari measures 16.50cm or 6.49" tall which is 1/10 scale.

Preorders for the Mari Makinami Illustrious figure are welcome to ship in late November 2009 at JPY4400 or US$46.90 from NCS.

Persona 4: Kuma Figure - Import Preorder
