NDS Gakken Thai-Indonesia Zanmai DS - Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Over 1.7 million Japanese travel to Thailand and Indonesia every year on holiday. The language barrier generally presents a problem but thanks to Gakken's Gakken Thai-Indonesia Zanmai DS language learning software, Japanese folks can speak to the locals with basic conversational phrases instead of pointing and gesturing. To help with proper pronunciation, practice samples are included along with a "sound measurement" function which shows the waveform of a spoken word and compares it to a properly spoken example. The software starts beginners at an elementary level and steps up the lessons until a 500-word vocabulary is achieved. A test function allows learners to check their skill level. In addition to learning to speak Thai and the Indonesian language, the software also includes basic reading and writing exercises for Thai (ภาษาไทย) characters. Preorders are welcome to ship on October 7, 2010 at JPY3800 or US$46.90 from NCS.

Shuwa no Mori - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Learning sign language is similar to learning any other language but there's no audio involved. It's all physical in that your hands do a good portion of the "talking" instead of your mouth. Star-Fish sets out to teach sign language with a Japanese tutorial program that features a lanky young girl with a bowl-shaped haircut as the emcee and a group of honey-colored rodents as her assistants. The software includes structured lessons which teach users the hand and arm movements that represent words, terms, and concepts followed by multiple-choice exercises that test what you've learned. By watching the visual cues acted out by the emcee, users get to see exactly how to perform signs.
Preorders are welcome to ship on June 18, 2009 at JPY4800 or US$49.90 from NCS.

Kanken DS 3 Deluxe - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» The Kanji Kentei (漢字検定 "KanKen") is a Japanese language aptitude test that's administered thrice every year. The test measures a person's proficiency at reading, writing, and recognizing kanji characters of every stripe and stroke. Speaking of which, stroke order when creating kanji is also tested but we've found that intuition and common sense are good foundations for determining how kanji should be written. KanKen DS is a top notch piece of software which gives learners of kanji an interactive way to prepare for the test. The new KanKen DS 3 bumps up the franchise with a new and more comprehensive edition which features over 100,000 questions and an improved kanji dictionary which now includes character meanings and usage. Kanji students of all ages may use the software and ratchet the learning level accordingly to one's level of experience and familiarity.
