Mario and Yoshi are powered.
Mario transforms and powers up by taking a particular item. She has special abilities such as the "bee mario" flying in the sky and "ghost mario" through the walls. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Yoshi can be transformed by eating fruit. Draw up steep hills with "Dash Yoshi" or "Balloon Yoshi" floats fluffy.

Super Mario Galaxy Figure Collection Vol. 2 - Preorder

«©NCSX» The story of Mario Galaxy continues later this year when Banpresto releases another collection of toy figures inspired by the game. The first toy in the set is an upside down Mario who kicks his feet in the air in a mid-somersault move and the second toy features Spring Mario where the porcine plumber is wrapped in a thick springy coil. Four additional figures are in the set including a Spring Mushroom and Bowser Junior. Each toy measures approximately 5cm or 1.9" tall and is made of PVC. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2009 at US$23.90 for the complete set of six. Banpresto will ship the figures in mini "pillow baggies" instead of plastic capsules which should prove to be friendlier on the environment.

Super Mario Galaxy Figure Keyholder Vol. 1 - Preorder

It's been nearly a year since Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy was released on the Wii. One year is a long time in our business. The gaming market is generally forward looking with an emphasis on the next big thing although there are occasional reflections from the past. The toy market is completely the opposite - it's primarily backwards looking.

Most toys rely on well known properties from pop-culture. Think Barbie and Elmo stateside or Kanu Unchou and Rei Ayanami in the land of the Rising Sun. So, even though used copies of the Mario Galaxy game may be found in flea markets for about $12, toys based on the franchise are still able to create cash flow and revenue for license holders. Case in point: Banpresto's upcoming Super Mario Galaxy keychains which feature nine characters from the game. Bee Mario and Bee Luigi are in attendance along with Princess and others. Each figure is packaged in a baggie with cardboard retainer. Preorders will ship in mid-late January 2009 at US$45.90 for each complete set of 9 figures.

Super Mario Galaxy Super DX Plush v1.0 - Preorder

If you've ever stared at the cover of Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii, you might remember the image of Mario soaring through the heavens like a space vessel. A plump space vessel. In blue overalls.

Banpresto's crew has studied the cover of the game and their designers have recreated Mario's pose in the form of a big plush. Mario measures 36cm or 14.17" in height and his wingspan is roughly as wide as he is tall. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late January 2009.

Super Mario Galaxy Sound Drops - New Import, In Stock

The shrill sound effects and jingling chimes of Super Mario Galaxy are captured in Bandai's Sound Drop toys dedicated to the relatively recent Wii game. A total of eight different Sound Drops are featured in the set which emit a sonorous sound effect when pressed. Push all eight in sequence and you might compose a sweet Mario Galaxy symphony.

The Sound Drop toys are normally sold through gashapon dispensers in Japan in completely random fashion but we'll gather them up and portion them into sets of 8. That way, our customers won't suffer the pain of receiving unnecessary duplicates. All preorders have shipped as of last Thursday and new orders are welcome to ship today. Those types of shenanigans probably still go on today so Bandai has announced a set of Super Balls with Super Mario Galaxy figurines inside.

Each Super Mario Galaxy Super Ball measures 45mm or 1.77" in diameter so they're roughly regulation issue size. The Super Balls that are sold in the USA are approximately 1.66" in diameter. Eight styles are on offer including one which contains a Star and another which houses a Flower from the Mario universe. Pricing for the Platinum version is currently set at US$43.36 but may rise slightly if we are able to accept new orders. The OST contains 53 tracks of music which are spread out over two shiny platinum CDs. Super Mario Galaxy Original Sound Track - Preorder

Last week, NCS opened and subsequently closed preorders for the Club Nintendo exclusive version of the Super Mario Galaxy OST Platinum version which spanned across two CDs. We sort of knew preorders would be strong but we didn't expect them to be that strong.

Today, we start preorders for the regular version of the SMG OST which features a gold cover and fills up only a single CD. Preorders are welcome to ship on or around February 23, 2007. Maybe buyers of the Platinum Edition can pick up this version as well to complete their personal Super Mario Galaxy shrines. The one in the basement. Near the laundry room.
