Cospa gets into the game with a white t-shirt which bears a resplendent image of Saber Lily. Her expression is softer than expected and her dress looks like a meringue. Despite Saber's congenial facial expression, both of her arms are positioned behind and gripping Excalibur in apparent anticipation of a killing stroke. «©NCSX» Fate Unlimited Codes Portable was released for the Playstation Portable earlier this year and Saber Lily is one of the playable characters in the game. In Fate U/C, Saber swings an air-sword and roughhouses competently with the best fighters so she's a formidable sword handler who holds her own. Saber Lily has been a popular subject for toy sculptors lately and Good Smile Company gives Saber the Nendoroid treatment to give fans some more of a good thing.
Nendoroid Saber Lily measures 10cm or 3.93" tall and is accompanied by her sword Excalibur, a sword named Caliburn, two ornate scabbards, and a nifty suit of armor. Three variant faces are included which may be swapped in and out of Saber's head to convey different emotions. Finally, two pairs of variant arms are packaged inside the retail box which may be swapped into Saber's arm sockets. «©NCSX» The recent Fate/Unlimited Codes fighting game for the PS2 was a solid seller and NCS shifted a good number of the SP-BOX Edition which included a bonus Saber Lily Figma from Max Factory. For an encore, Good Smile Company has announced a 1/7 scale Saber Lily Distant Avalon figure which measures 23cm or 9.05" in height. The sculpture by Takayuki Kawahara depicts the blonde knight in the midst of igniting her "Distant Avalon" attack which fills the Fate/Unlimited Codes game screen with slashing laser-like light.

Saber is decked out in a suit of armor that's a combination of metal plating and poofy white dress. A scabbard is tethered to Saber's left side while her right hand grips the mighty sword Excalibur. Preorders have all shipped as of yesterday. The figure is sold out but we'll update if restock is available from our suppliers in the next few days.

Fate Unlimited Codes - New Import, Ships Today

«©NCSX» Saber, Shiro, Rin, and the rest of the FATE/STAY rabble are back in a 2D fighting game which reached Japanese arcades just a few months ago. The complete Namco 246 kit would have set you back about US$3500 but thanks to the magic of fast home conversions, the Japanese PS2 edition is available this week for a measly US$69.90.

Fate/Unlimited Codes was developed by Capcom and Cavia with the game engine supplied by Eighting. The game looks 3D but the fighters face off on a 2D plane with the occasional 3D background shift and special attacks that swivel the screen in 3D motion. For example, when Caster performs a magic attack, she flies up into the air and opens her cape like a butterfly before the torrent of lasers skewer her opponent below. The attack is shown in 3D via cut-scene cinema before the 2D fighting action takes over again. Gilgamesh also has a watch-worthy special attack where he binds his opponent with lengths of chain before serving the coup de grâce. The cut scenes mesh beautifully with the fighting to provide a fluid gaming experience for fans of the Fate Stay franchise. The PS2 conversions includes a Tutorial Mode, a Practice Mode with CPU modifiers, a Mission Mode, and an Extra Mode which contains a visual collection and movies.
