TOYS Rilakkuma Donut Reading Cushion - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» The bear known as Rilakkuma has a knack for stuffing sweets and pastries into his mouth and noshes indiscriminately at any hour of the day. Rilakkuma enjoys food as evidenced by his protruding belly and even his choice of seating looks like food.

Behold the Rilakkuma Donut Reading Cushions which frankly look more like candy-flavored toilet seats than donuts. The "donut" on the left of the product photo looks like it was dipped in chocolate while the "donut" on the upper right appears to be strawberry-flavored. The cushions are meant to be placed on one's lap while reading so that your arms are held up while grasping a book. Each cushion measures 60cm in diameter and preorders are welcome to ship in January 2011.

TOY Rilakkuma Long Cushion - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Long cushions are also known as body pillows and they're available stateside as well as in shopping venues across Japan. The body pillow helps sleepers maintain proper spinal alignment during their slumber since the pillow is somewhat rigid. As long as a sleeper hugs the body pillow like a koala hugs a tree, a straight spine is almost guaranteed. There are scenarios however when a body pillow can be contorted into a "U" shape or even a "S" shape if the sleeper's body strength is Hulk-like. Japanese manufacturer System Service gets into the body pillow game by announcing a Rilakkuma Long Cushion which is designed to help sleepy people with their postures. Instead of curling up like a pillbug, the pillow keeps sleeping bodies relatively uncurled. The Rilakkuma Long Cushion measures 100cm or 39.37" in length. The decoration on the cushion features a haphazard and colorful arrangement of hearts, Rilakkumas, and confections. The promotional photo that System Service released with their preorder solicitation shows a grown woman sleeping with the cushion but grown men can be potential buyers as well. Preorders are welcome to ship in late November 2010 at US$39.90 per cushion. Please select either pink or blue color variants from the dropdown menu on our shop.

TOYS Rilakkuma MakuMaku Solar Mascot - Import Preorder

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Toys that run on solar power are eco-friendly since batteries aren't required and the loving light of the sun is all that's necessary to make them move. Solar toys are simple, run clean, and won't pollute our waterways. Kindly ignore the few ounces of PVC that were used to create the toys.

In the case of the Rilakkuma MakuMaku Solar Mascot, the brown bear known as Relakkuma and his honey-colored friend Korilakkuma are about to dig into a sweet dessert that sits at their feet. Whenever sunlight glances at the solar panels located at the front of each toy, the bears will wobble their heads and pump their spoon-holding hands. Preorders are welcome to ship in late August 2010 at US$20.90 each.

Relakkuma Sherbet Maker - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Back in the day*, ice cream makers for home-based use were rickety and not very good. We recall one motorized ice cream contraption that was shaped like a fat thermos with an inner cylinder that spun when powered up. It made a noise that was strangely similar to a lawnmower but twice as scary. The device required salt, ice, and assorted ingredients to create a quart of ice cream. Instead of ice cream as the end product however, we got a slurry of ice chips and dilute milky matter. Over the years, the quality of the machines has improved and we're able to make honest to goodness ice cream, sherbet, and other frozen treats in the office kitchen. The machines still make a lot of noise but at least the results are worth the din.

System Service has announced a Sherbet Maker that features a Relakkuma or
Korilakkuma design and is powered by hand crank. In case you didn't know, only three ingredients are necessary to create sherbet: Sugar, baking soda, and citric acid. Mix them together so the soda and acid start fizzing and proceed to eat. Additional flavors may be added to the base sherbet foundation but note that only dry ingredients should be used. Preorders for the Relakkuma Sherbet Maker are welcome to ship in mid-late July 2009 at JPY15.90 each.

* The term "
back in the day" as used by the NCS Corporation refers to an ephemeral period of time that could be as much as 20 years ago or as little as 10 years ago. It is a purposely nebulous descriptor meant to bring readers back to a time that was perhaps more innocent and less sophisticated than what we know as the "current day."

Relakkuma Pocket Watch - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Pocket watches are generally more sophisticated in appearance and operation than a wristwatch. Maybe it's because there's more parts and a lot more effort is involved in telling time through a pocket watch. A wristwatch requires a mere flick of the wrist and a downward glance. Checking the time on a pocket watch on the other hand is a multi-step process. First you'll have to fish it out of your pocket, grasp it firmly, and then press downwards on the release button to open it up. Next, you'll have to angle the watch so that its face peers back at you so that the time can be told.

If you want to complicate your life with a timepiece that was popular in the 18th century, the Relakkuma Pocket Watch is for you. The lid features Rilakkuma's simple mug whilst the face shows off a silhouette of the bear. The watch runs on a single power cell and will ship from the manufacturer already ticking. Preorders are welcome to ship in July 2009.

Relaxuma: Minna de Goyururi Seikatsu - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» Relakkuma, Korilakkuma, and a chick named Kiriroi-tori return to the world of video games in a new collection of challenges, interactive sequences, and other activities that would appeal to the grade school set. Admirers of Relakkuma may enjoy jigsaw puzzles, a Concentration card-matching game, and maintain a scrapbook of photos. When Relakkuma is eating, sleeping, or performing other actions, players can take snapshots and insert them into a digital photobook. Players who have a Wii Balance Board can use it to do yoga poses by following the bear characters on screen.

At the outset of the game, Relakkuma is seated in his room next to a bed covered with bright yellow sheets. There's not much going on so hover the cursor over the bear and press the "A" button so that a question mark appears over him. Next, hover the cursor over the bed and press the "A" button again to make Relakkuma attempt to clamber onto the bed. Since he's a sloth-like ne'er do well, the simple act of going to bed turns into a Herculean task and players will watch as he topples backwards and lies prone. Sort of like a wooden plank. While the shenanigans are happening, gamers are supposed to press the "2" button to bring up the camera and take embarrassing snapshots of Relakkuma's clumsiness.
