«©NCSX» The Pokemon Onemuri Makura cushions from 2008 have been selling well for the past two years and we'll probably keep the Pochama version in stock for at least another 3 years. NCS isn't looking for more animal pillows but we're probably going to bring in the Oyasumi Bakura plush pillow.
   The upcoming pillow is larger than the Pokemon versions and appear just as comfy if the sleeping model in the promotional photo is to be believed. Oyasumi Bakura is a new character from Sanei which appears to be a bear or maybe some sort of woodchuck. Preorders are welcome to ship in January 2011 at JPY or US$25.90 from NCS.

«©NCSX» Long cushions are also known as body pillows and they're available stateside as well as in shopping venues across Japan. The body pillow helps sleepers maintain proper spinal alignment during their slumber since the pillow is somewhat rigid. As long as a sleeper hugs the body pillow like a koala hugs a tree, a straight spine is almost guaranteed. There are scenarios however when a body pillow can be contorted into a "U" shape or even a "S" shape if the sleeper's body strength is Hulk-like. Japanese manufacturer System Service gets into the body pillow game by announcing a Rilakkuma Long Cushion which is designed to help sleepy people with their postures. Instead of curling up like a pillbug, the pillow keeps sleeping bodies relatively uncurled. The Rilakkuma Long Cushion measures 100cm or 39.37" in length. The decoration on the cushion features a haphazard and colorful arrangement of hearts, Rilakkumas, and confections. The promotional photo that System Service released with their preorder solicitation shows a grown woman sleeping with the cushion but grown men can be potential buyers as well. Sega's upcoming Stitch HQ 3-Way Furisu Blanket provides two of the three ingredients needed for sleep as follows:

«©NCSX» The Pugi of Monster Hunter fame have been making the rounds in the Japanese toy market and they've become desirable in the past few months. The latest needful entry in the world of Pugi is Banpresto's Monster Hunter Super DX Ohirune Pugi which is a pillow in the likeness of an bright-eyed and amiable piglet. Each Pugi pillow measures 30cm or 11.81" in length and is made of soft plushy material that'll serve as a comfortable cushion to rest your weary head. As if to mimic the act of sleeping, the Pugi are positioned in a relaxed posture.

Two styles are on offer: A "Memories Stripe" Pugi which wears a blue and white striped jacket and a Pink Pugi who wears a pink bandana around its blubbery neck along with a pink and white striped garment around its midriff. The pink bandana may be removed from the Pugi for washing and a little pouch may also be found underneath the pink Pugi. Both piglets have a pink bow tied around their curly tails. BED Dream C Club Rui Pillow Case - Preorder

«©NCSX» Rui is a pink-haired hostess who works in the Dream C Club alongside an assortment of other hostesses. Her goal at the club is to convince customers to spend lots of cash on drinks and curry favor with the drunks in order to earn generous gifts. Although Rui caters to mature audiences during the midnight hour, her 9-to-5 job is teaching children.

Cospa has taken notice of Rui and they've licensed her likeness for a pair of pillow cases which measure 150 x 50cm (59 x 19.68") in area. The pillow coverings are made of 100% cotton and are designed to hold "body pillows" which are tubular and lengthy enough to cradle the entire body. We've seen some body pillows at stateside department stores go for about $10 but others are more expensive depending on the material. When the Rui pillow case covers a body pillow, her likeness is basically imprinted upon the pillow. In a sense, the body pillow becomes the very embodiment of Rui, pink-haired Dream C Club hostess extraordinaire.

Betty Boop Sexy Leg Dakimakura - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Roughly 6 years ago, someone at NCS befriended a stripper who had a thing for Betty Boop. Her apartment was filled with Betty Boop artwork, Betty Boop stickers, a Betty Boop vase, Betty Boop stickers, etc. Although she was a grown woman, she applied Betty Boop stickers to household objects that weren't already branded with Betty Boop. She even had a Betty Boop desktop clock where the leg would kick back and forth like a little pendulum. It was all Betty all the time.

NCS is assuming she'll raid our offices when the Betty Boop Sexy Leg Dakimakura (Body Pillow) arrives in May 2009. Japanese manufacturer Furyu will release two styles of the Sexy Leg Pillow which measure 70cm or 27.55" and feature a fishnet design. The Boopster's image may be seen on the leg along with a heart garter and her name in italics. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2009 at US$48.90 each.

Space Invaders Pillow - Preorder

The 30th Anniversary of Space Invaders is in full swing and Taito's been celebrating the historic event with numerous product announcements and preorders. Over the weekend, the company started accepting reservations for two Space Invaders Pillows. Maybe Taito's trying to pique the interest of buyers who preordered the Space Invaders Towels from a few weeks ago.

The pillows are colored black and decorated with pixel images of Space Invaders in a shade of drab yellow and drab gray. The measurements per pillow are 45cm (17.71") in length and 22cm (8.66") in width which is enough to accommodate human heads, pets, and even fannies. Tsugi No Hi Kerori Pillow

For a long time, Hello Kitty was Sanrio's bread and butter. The little kitty spawned a global phenomenon that continues to this day. However, variety is the spice of life and new characters were needed in order for Sanrio to grow and maintain the empire. Beasts such as Tarepada and Relakkuma have grown to become recognizable franchises. Add one more creature to the pile - Tsugi no Hi Kerori which translates to "Kerori (Frog) of Tomorrow."

Since the goal of creating a character is profits - that's right, profits, Kerori is yoked and forced to appear on all manner of products. For today's example, Kerori appears atop a pillow. Rest your head in the center when you sleep and rest assured that Kerori watches over you like a Guardian of the Night. Or something like that. Preorders ship in mid-late Sept 2007.

Mana Kazama Reversible Huggable Pillow

Toys Planning released a Ren Nanase Reversible Huggable Pillow last year which featured the infamous nurse of the Yakin Byouyou animation. This year, the company follows up with a Mana Kazama Reversible Huggable Pillow where the Ren look-alike lies prone and seemingly positioned in a defenseless posture.
The "Reversible" bit in the product title refers to the two different images on each side of the pillow. On the top side, Mana is in her crisp nurse uniform. On the flipside, Mana's bosom is revealed and her nurse uniform has been hiked up a tad to reveal white skivvies underneath. Similar to the Ren Nanase Pillow, the Mana version measures 107cm x 45cm or 42.12" long by 17.71" wide. It's also thick and fluffy and filled with stuffing inside.
