«©NCSX» In the recent Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End movie, Jack Sparrow resides in Davy Jones' Locker and finds himself aboard the Black Pearl. The ship is lousy with Jack's imaginary crewmembers that are carbon copies of... himself. Jack shoots one doppleganger in order to obtain a morsel of food and barks out orders to his hallucinations. Jack eventually swings off the boat but instead of being enveloped by the salty sea, he's lands on hard baked ground. Scuttling crabs later appear en masse and heft the Black Pearl to the ocean where Jack is reunited with his compatriots. 

 

   To get in on the POTC action, Hot Toys releases a "Jack Sparrow Giant Cosbaby" figure which measures 31cm or 12.20" tall and features posable limbs and a moveable noggin. The expression on Jack's face seems to convey astonishment or perhaps bemusement at something in the distance. Pricing in Japan is set at JPY8000 or US$80.18 from NCS. We actually received a partial shipment of these a few weeks ago and all preorders have shipped already - the shipment today is restock.

«©NCSX» The Zelda games by Shigeru Miyamoto have captivated children and adults alike for nearly three decades. That kind of staying power and devotion demands respect and merchandising. Takara Tomy pays homage to the Zelda franchise by announcing a collection of 16 pins who feature the game covers of every release in the Zelda library. Every one of them starting from the original Legend of Zelda from the Famicom (aka NES, stateside) to the recent remake of Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 3DS. It's a shame that Skyward Sword won't be included in the collection.

   The Zelda pins are normally sold randomly from gashapon dispensers in Japan which entails a lot of duplicate pins and knob spinning. However, to ease the burden of collecting all 16 pins in the collection, NCS is gathering them all up and selling them in a complete 16-pin pack. New orders are welcome.

«©NCSX» In the Oneechan Bara VorteX game from December 2006, sisters Aya and Saki teamed up with a policewoman named Anna to rid the metropolis of a rising zombie threat. When plunging into masses of undead with the goal of chopping them up, most sensible warriors would put on some armor, chain mail, or at least a shiny armlet. 

  Aya scoffs at those pansies. 

   She goes to war wearing a two-piece bikini, a hat, and a pair of thigh high boots. Occasionally she'll throw on a feather boa to accessorize. In the case of the Oneechan Bara VorteX Aya figure, our idol also wears a beaded necklace and hefts two swords for that special dual slicing action.

   The Aya figure is set to 1/8 scale and measures 20cm or 7.87" tall. Two color variants are on offer - a red bikini figure as shown in the product photo to the left and a black bikini version. Other than the color of the bikini and the shade of the tassels on her gloves, the two figures are identical. Aya also wears a hat which may be removed to reveal her hat-flattened hair.

   One of the few characters to appear in every single Tekken game, the masked ninja is a fearsome fighter. An honorable warrior and leader of the Manji Clan, Yoshimitsu stands victorious on the severed head of a gigantic mechanoid! Wearing his unique and distinctive armor, the Tekken fighter holds his two swords in triumph, waiting for his next opponent. Yoshimitsu's demonic armor is amazingly detailed with multiple textures including metals and sculpted 'fabric,' layered plating, intricate piping and designs, buckles, straps, and much more.

   Matching the varied sculpt is a fantastic paint job capturing the one of a kind look; burnished purple and gold armor plates cover bluish gray clothing and are decorated with silvers, blues, and white. Yoshimitsu also has an enormous circular device behind his head and two detailed scabbards, one mounted on his back and the other at his hip. Sculpted by Japanese master artist Takayuki Takeya, Yoshimitsu stands nearly 14 inches tall (1/6 scale) atop the giant head for an overall height of over 21 ½ inches! That mechanoid also shows off an incredible sculpt with severe battle damage and gory organic and technological innards spilling out onto the battlefield.
