«©NCSX» Shiren the Wanderer and his faithful pet ermine Koppa are back in another dungeon exploration thriller. If you've never enjoyed a Fushigi no Dungeon game, here's how they work: Players explore a dungeon where every movement is stutter-step and in sync with everything else in the game world. For example, when you make a move, all monsters in the room also make a move in time to every step you take. That means when Shiren is next to a monster and he attacks the beast, the beast counterattacks right afterwards.
   The scenario in Furai no Shiren 5 is brand new and wireless connectivity is supported so players can trade items and equipment with each other. Early preorders will ship with a bonus soundtrack in 50% ratio from Chunsoft.

NDS Ninokuni Shikkoku no Madoushi - Japanese Preorder

«©NCSX» The latest game from Level 5 isn't another Professor Layton episode but a spectacle called Ninokuni which fits into the adventure genre. In the game, players take control of a lad named Oliver whose loving mother has passed away. Oliver is stricken with grief but salvation lies in a strange toy that was given to him by his mother when he was a little boy. One day, whilst Olivier is crying and his tears are raining down on the toy, it comes to life and introduces himself as "Shizuku," a fairy from another land. Equipped with a special book of magic which contains sigils and youthful energy, the two travel to another world called Ninokuni where Oliver might find a way to bring his mother back to life.

   Ninokuni Shikkoku no Madoushi is an action-adventure game that takes place on the sumptuous world of Ninokuni. Oliver and Shizuku traipse through the wilderness, cross chasms, battle monsters, and explore quaint towns. When traveling, Olivier leads while Shizuku dutifully follows like a puppy. Shizuku is a highly animated companion who provides guidance as well as illumination thanks to the lamp that's tethered to its nostrils. Every copy of the game includes a 352-page book that's required to play the game due to the sigils and symbols found within which are used in the adventure.

Even though the Neo Geo is an orphan nowadays, it nevertheless lives on in the hearts of staunch adherents across the globe and a steady stream of Playstation 2 re-release compilations and hardware rehashes. The next hardware rehash is a new version of the Neo Geo Pad which was originally packaged with the Neo Geo CD console with a clicky directional pad and soft-touch buttons. The upcoming Neo Geo Pad is a digital controller which is compatible with the Playstation 3 as well as Windows PCs. A "PS" button is located between the SELECT and START buttons in the center of the pad.

TOYS Korokoro Sweets Collection - Japanese Preorder

«©NCSX» Whenever someone says, "I have a sweet tooth," as if it was something that needed to be stated, the appropriate reply should be, "Who doesn't?" The human palate craves sweets and the addiction starts in the cradle and endures until the grave.

   Japanese toy manufacturer System Service pay homage to the sugar blues by producing a set of toys called Korokoro Sweets Collection which features five cookies and a biscuit that are fixed with an attached keychain. Each cookie measures approximately 9cm or roughly 3.54" in diameter and is detailed with realistic textures, surfaces, and syrupy toppings. NCS would recommend keeping the toys away from small children since they look realistic and might be eaten in the wrong hands. TOYS Mori No Chichan Nakama Tachi - Japanese Preorder

«©NCSX» Furry rodents are on the loose in Epoch's Mori No Chichan Nakama Tachi collection of toys. Each rodent is accompanied by a segment of stump which provides shelter as well as a pedestal upon which to sit. The set of toys features four mice-like creatures and one mushroom. The mushroom is also accompanied by a stump which it can hide within since everyone knows that mushrooms are highly desirable.

   Each rodent measures 8cm or 3.14" in length and is covered in soft and plushy fur. The tails attached to each toy are rigid but they may be moved slightly for whatever reason. Preorders for the complete set of five toys are welcome to ship in April 2011 at JPY1200 or US$20.90 from NCS.

TOYS Puroresu Waza Diecast Strap - Japanese Preorder

«©NCSX» Wrestling's pretty popular in Japan and puroresu (professional wrestling) has engendered an industry of toys, books, magazines, video games, and trinkets. The upcoming Puroresu Waza Diecast Strap from Epoch should probably be slotted into the trinket category since they're small, shiny, and somewhat collectible.
   A total of five straps are featured in the set which depict two wrestlers engaged in the sport of grappling, flipping, and smacking. The wrestlers are tethered by way of small rings to a strap but they may be removed from their respective rings and then positioned into various wrestling poses. Preorders for the complete set of five Puroresu Waza straps are welcome to ship in March 2011 at JPY1200 or US$20.90.

NEWS General Updates

Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets
   Cave recently announced the Japanese Xbox 360 release of Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets on one DVD. Preorders haven't started with Japanese suppliers yet but NCS expects them to open up within the next week or so. In the meantime, Makoto Asada of Cave spoke to Kotaku and confirmed that the game will be region-free and playable on North American Xbox 360 consoles. The games will be direct arcade-to-home ports but will feature special arrange modes and online leaderboards.
