«©NCSX» The iNVADERCADE from Taito transforms an iPAD or iPAD2 into a desktop Space Invaders arcade cabinet. A ball-top joystick is located on the left side of the cab while a single button near the middle of the control console ensures that the cabinet won’t have much utility outside of playing Space Invaders.

   The cab also serves double duty as a charging dock and is equipped with stereo speakers and a headphone jack located on the right side of the control console. The price of the iNVADERCADE is set at JPY15800 or US$259.90 from NCS. Early preorders are shipping today and new orders will ship within the next 1-2 weeks once additional supplies arrive. A campy commercial released by Square Enix UK on September 22, 2011 without any information may indicate that the iNVADERCADE cabinet for use with the iPad may be headed to the European marketplace. It'll probably be just as expensive as the exorbitant Japanese version which NCS started preorders for last week.
