    Japanese toy manufacturer Takara Tomy celebrates the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros with a collection of eight Mario-themed touch pens which are perfect for use with the resistive screens of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS handhelds. The thick-barreled pens measure 10cm or 3.93" in length and are topped with little character icons and capped with a plastic tip with loop for tethering purposes. «©NCSX» When the Nintendo DS was first released and became a worldwide phenomenon, accessory manufacturers flooded the market with touch pen replacements. At one point, NCS juggled preorder offers for 20-30 different ones each month. We stocked some but ignored the rest due to well-deserved apathy.

Square Enix is a little late to the touch pen party but they've released two Smile Slime models for the NDS Lite (to the left) and the NDSi (on the right) which appear to be standard stylus styles. However, if you peek at the top of each pen, you'll be greeted with the jolly visage of a Blue or Silver Slime. The stylus is styled sleek so that it pops into the touch pen receptacle on the right side of the Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DSi handheld units. Both styles are in stock and shipping to all preorders and new orders today.

Rakuna Touch Pen for Original NDS - Clearance

«©NCSX» The standard NDS stylus is small but it works. People with ham hands however might have a hard time gripping the stylus between their beefy fingers. Hori targets the big-handed people among us with a standard-size stylus dubbed the Rakuna Touch Pen that is gripped like a normal writing instrument.
A few ridges on the barrel of the pen provide additional grip and a little mounting receptacle is included inside the blister pack which plugs into the back of the original NDS. The receptacle is meant to serve as a dock for the Rakuna Touch Pen while a little plug on the back of the pen goes into the built-in hole on the back of the NDS.

This item is also known as the Comfortable Touch Pen.

NCS originally stocked 48 factory cases of the New SMB Touch Pen Gashapon in late 2006. Each case contains 6 bags of pens. We've sold most of our stock in the past year but since the remaining inventory takes up precious warehouse space, we're going to try to sell them by the bag. Each bag contains 50 Super Mario Bros touch pens which we normally sell for $3.95 each or $20 for a complete set of six. If you're a retail customer, you'll basically have NDS touch pens for the rest of your life. If you're a vendor, you'll have something interesting to add to your wares.

Zelda: Mugen no Sunadokei Touch Pen Set

A new Zelda game titled "Zelda no Densetsu: Mugen no Sunadokei" which translates to "The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" is scheduled to ship later this month. To sort of tie into the release of the game, gashapon king Yujin has announced preorders for six Zelda-themed touch pens which are slated to ship in September 2007. Will anyone still remember the game three months after the fact? This question and many more will be answered when NCS takes delivery of the touch pens this autumn and throw up the usual photos.

Six varieties are on offer which feature the Zelda Mugen no Sunadokei logo and two-tone colors per stylus. Each touch pen is adorned with a loop for tethering purposes. Preorders are welcome today and NCS will supply the touch pens in complete sets of six for US$20.
