Our dream team of designers, sculptors, and engineers has each
poured their heart and soul into creating the original designs of the VARIANT
PLAY ARTS KAI figures. The TIMELESS series is their newest endeavor.
Legends Exist Regardless of the Time
Through generations, there has always been a force of justice that
agents of crime, chaos and evil have contended with. Every incarnation of Batman
that existed throughout time stood as a beacon of hope and a reflection of the
age it is a part of. Utilizing and innovating the technology available, Batman
is ever vigilant even in lawless times. These figures provide a chance to see
the concept of the vigilante we know now envisioned through intriguing epochs of
time.

Inspired by the fantastic sci-fi subgenre of steampunk, our VARIANT
PLAY ARTS KAI 'Timeless' series welcomes a new BATMAN to the fold.
His Batsuit, with many design aspects inspired by turn of the century
steam powered technology, offers a design that transcends time and space. Fine
sculpting and paintwork, as well as careful consideration of the materials used,
elevate the unique texture of steam-powered technology's functional beauty. For
example, multiple gears and cogs can be seen through a transparent piece in the
chest armor, and burnished bronze metallic color is used throughout. This figure
has a dignified, almost classical aura, emphasized by a five-layer structure of
the cape which hearkens back to designs by da Vinci. The technical machinery
would not be out of place in an 1890's Batcave, and the gaslamp atmosphere
evoked by the design is a perfect match for the Dark Knight.
Figure also includes display stand and interchangeable hand parts.

«©NCSX» Our introduction to the term "Steampunk" came in a game titled Sakura Taisen back when the Sega Saturn was a market contender. "Steampunk" refers to a fictional reality where the use of steam as a source of energy is dominant. The mechs in Sakura Taisen were powered by steam and the world in Arms' Heart operates on steam. The publisher Hamster describes the game as a "Steampunk RPG" in their promotional material and Matsuzo Machida of Shadow Hearts fame is the director and scripter.
