Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai - Preorder

«©NCSX» Sugar Village is a pretty sweet place but a real estate developer has targeted it for destruction. Instead of homely farms and the simple life, the developer plans to turn the village into a resort within 2 years. A young boy is recruited by a nature goddess to stay in the village and help it remain green, quaint, and homely. To this end, the protagonist engages in farming, animal husbandry, and even fulfills special requests from the townfolk to improve Sugar Village. By performing his job well, the hero and the villagers work together to fend off the impending development.

The start of the game kicks off like previous Bokujou Monogatari (Harvest Moon) games where a young lad arrives at the village and gets to work by clearing the field of detritus. Once the soil has been cleared of debris, it's time to sow seeds and water the seedlings so they'll grow up nice and strong. After the first crop is harvested, enough capital is gained to buy livestock to improve one's lot in life. Slowly but surely, a little farming empire is built from the ground up. In addition to the rote farming activities, players may also do a bit of mining, logging, and fishing.

When things are going well in Sugar Village and the people are happy, special events will happen to improve the overall condition of the town. The publisher Marvelous touys over 300 special events and 200 requests from the townfolk that may be fulfilled. A number of female villagers also provide potential love interests so that the protagonist can get married and start a family. Preorders are welcome to ship on March 19, 2009.

Bokujou Monogatari: Youkoso Kaze no Bazaar - New Import, Ships Today

«©NCSX» When the world becomes too complicated with hedge funds blowing up and wealth managers literally making off with the money, there has to be an alternative. Answer: The simple life. Forego the big city and head back to the farm where animal husbandry, raising crops, and manual irrigation are on the daily schedule.

In the latest Bokujou Monogatari (aka Harvest Moon), players take on the role of a farmer who weeds a plot of land, sows assorted seeds, and takes the crops to market to reap the proceeds. In the case of the new game, the market is a big Bazaar where the goal is to make lots of cash by selling unique products and produce that your competitors can't touch. It's a sounds like a simple plan but adverse challenges invariably pop up.

Bokujou Monogatari Yasuragi no Ki

When a mighty tree situated on an island withers and loses its vim, the Goddess who tends to the tree goes away. Goombye. With the Goddess gone, the vitality of the island droops. Not all is lost however. Assistance in the form of a young lad or lady steams towards the island on a ship. The Koropokuru helper elves of the island charge the protagonist with the task of reviving the Great Tree and in turn, bringing the Goddess home so that everything is hunky-dory again.

Bokujou Monogatari aka Harvest Moon for the Wii is played with both the nunchuk and Wiimote for a two-handed experience. To move, swivel the analog stick on the nunchuk and the onscreen character runs around obediently. The farming action takes place a bit later when you're settled but rudimentary actions such as hoeing require a quick up and down motion to stab a wooden hoe into the dirt below. When seedlings sprout, fill your watering can with some water and pour sweet sustenance upon them. The Wiimote motion to water plants is a tipping move where the Wiimote is held level to the ground and then pointed downwards as if you were really serving up some water to thirsty flora.

After being shipwrecked and stranded on an island, the hero of the latest Bokujou Monogatari teams up with a small family of survivors to make a new home. By developing the land and creating a vibrant island economy supported by agrulcture, trade, and livestock, the newfound home away from home might become a teeming commercial jewel. With the promise of a better life, immigrants will visit your pristine shores and possibly settle down. The game mandates a population limit of 100 people but inhabitants aren't set in stone and may leave and arrive at any time which allows for a constant state of flux. «NCS Game Notes»
