    The top consists of a baby-blue ribbed vest with navy trim which shows off Motoko's ample assets while the bottom is an overly agitated dress which swirls around with a life of its own. Mo's gloved hands are perched on her hips in a stance of defiance and perhaps dominance. A white disc serves as the foundation upon which the Major stands.

Tachikoma Trading Figures Vol. 3 - Import Preorder

The Tachikoma of Ghost in the Shell were once fearsome machines with squeaky voices. They were well-armed, fast, and scrabbled quickly to points of conflict like war machines are apt to do. That was then.

Nowadays, the Tachikoma are rounded, innocuous, and completely devoid of the killing spirit. They're like candy or juicy baubles of sparkling PVC that have widespread appeal. Sometimes we wonder if this is the fate of all pop culture phenomenon in Japan - where everything eventually becomes adorable and all edges are rounded off...

Preorders for the Tachikoma Trading Figures Vol 3 will ship in August 2008 at JPY3800 per box of 12 figures or US$38.90 from NCS.

GitS Motoko Kusanagi 1/7 Scale Figure - Restocked

Vice went out of business last year and their Motoko Kusanagi collaboration with Alter sold out quickly afterwards. Today, NCS is offering the figure once again thanks to a reproduction by Beagle. Motoko stands at 1/7 scale and is dressed in two-tone ninja duds which complement her purplish tresses. Her pose is casual and the Major unzips her vest to reveal voluptuous attributes underneath. Repeat: Voluptuous. Kusanagi sports a pair of combat boots and wears enough padding to prevent major damage should she take a direct hit. For return fire engagements, she hefts a firearm in her right hand. The figure is fixed-pose and a transparent base is included for display purposes. Orders are welcome to ship today.

S.A.C. Motoko Kusanagi 1/7 Scale VMF - Preorder

Yamato's inaugural figure in their vmf (Variable Motion Figure) line of toys features the irrepressible Motoko Kusanagi of Ghost in the Shell fame. The Major wears a swimsuit (face it, it's a swimsuit) and a flak jacket which sort of makes the protective purpose of the flak jacket moot. In addition to her questionable choice of garb on top, Motoko wears leggings and heavy-duty boots below. The figure is set at 1/7 scale and measures 23cm or 9.05" tall which makes her as big as a Real Action Heroes toy.

The "Variable Motion" in the product title refers to the many points of articulation in Motoko's framework which allows for different poses and postures that the figure may be placed in. She can crouch, bend, lunge, and stand with arms outstretched if so desired. Think of Yamato's vmf as the company's answer to Max Factory's Figma figures. Battle hardened, gritty, and full of spirit, Motoko is a reliable operative who gets important and meaty assignments from her overlords.

Medicom's Real Action Heroes: Motoko Kusanagi figure measures 30cm or 11.81" in height. Motoko wears a regulation-issue uniform that's form-fitting and sleek... which is important for avoiding snags when engaged in a mission. Accessories packed with the figure include a holster which is strapped to Motoko's leg, an SMG Uzi, and a mounting stand for display purposes. Preorders ship in late August 2008.

Tachikoma Silver Soft Vinyl Figure - New Import, In Stock

The default color of the Tachikoma is blue with white trim. However, in episode 12 of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, two color variants were shown: a silver-painted Tachikoma which was eventually destroyed and a yellow-painted model which was also wrecked in an all-out assault against the Umibozu.

NCS has peddled a few yellow-painted Tachikoma toys in the past year but Fewture's Tachikoma Silver Sofubi is the first gray-gunmetal colored version that we'll stock later this year. Tachikoma Plush

The Tachikoma is arguably the best mech in existence. Forget Gundam, Votoms, Mazinger, and even the Evangelion. Give us a couple of Tachikoma and we'd rule the world.... or at least take over the local bodega. To celebrate the greatness and abject superiority of the Tachikoma against all other mecha, Japanese manufacturer Cospa releases a big blue plush which measures 33 x 25 cm (12.99 x 9.84") in dimension. The original preorder photos made the Tachikoma look massive but now that we've received them, the plush isn't really that big. Nonetheless, it is the biggest Tachikoma toy that we've seen so far.
The Tachikoma plush is soft to the touch but its construction is bulked up with rigid filler and material inside which allows the mech to stand on all fours and maintain its stature without a stand or extra support. «photos»

Tachikoma Silver Pendant

If you've ever wanted a Tachikoma positioned close to your heart, FujiCreation's silver Tachikoma necklace hits the spot. Small of size and yet glittery and shiny, the Tachikoma pendant hangs like a high-tech metallic beetle and is sure to attract the eye of a Ghost-in-the-Shell-loving thief or an ambitious cutpurse. NCS recommends tucking it in when shuffling around crowded city streets.

The sterling silver Tachikoma pendant measures 2cm in length and nearly that much in height. A silver chain which attaches to the Tachikoma's pod is also included with the pendant which measures 45cm. Since the Tachikoma pendant can be considered jewelry, it's packaged in a velour-covered jewel box. Preorders are welcome to ship on or around February 28, 2007.

Fewture EX Gokin Tachikoma

Fewture has updated their preorder information for the long awaited diecast or EX Chogokin Tachikoma. The measurement for the Tachikoma is listed at 15.50cm or roughly 6.00" in length and the price is set at JPY14,000. Preorders are welcome starting today to ship in mid-late May 2007.

Since there's a Good Smile Company version of the Tachikoma (diecast + ABS) that's also shipping in May 2007 at a slightly higher price of JPY17,800, we're still undecided on which version to focus on. The GSC version also includes a Motoko Kusanagi figure which may be encased within the canopy of the Tachikoma so it might get our vote for stocking larger quantities.

Please note that NCS is currently only accepting preorders for the Fewture version of the diecast Tachikoma but we'll update our site once GSC confirms and starts preorders for their diecast Tachikoma.
