«©NCSX» Kazuya Shiranami and the Rune Angel Troupe are back in a new adventure that plays a lot like the earlier Galaxy Angel II games on the Playstation 2. The Rune Angels' mandate is to protect the Milky Way from assorted dangers and when the occasion calls, to save it from crisis when big trouble arises. The lengthy introductory sequence features a healthy amount of non-interactive character interplay and conversation which provides the backdrop for the storyline. Press the "Triangle" button to automate the forwarding of the conversations. Once the premise is established, Kazuya and friends embark on missions where encounters are triggered by moving Angel units on an overhead galactic map. When a skirmish starts, the view changes to a 3D view of space where a Rune Angel's Emblem Frame is coursing through the cosmos and firing ordnance at enemy ships with glittering visual effects . During the movement phase of the game, little communication flashes between the Rune Angels are played to relay information. The Luxiole serves as the mothership for the Angels and it's also where most of the interaction takes place as Kazuya gets to acquaint himself with the girls.

Galaxy Angel II features full voice acting which accompanies all of the dialogue in the game which may explain why the adventure is mastered on two single-layer DVDs. A sizable amount of animation and CG is also featured in the adventure to provide theatrics and eye candy.

Kazuya Shiranami reprises his role as a member of the Rune Angel Troupe which replaced the Moon Angel Troupe from the original Galaxy Angel series. At the outset of the game, the player takes on the role of Kazuya and hears his name being repeated by different voices. The screen shifts to a view of Apricot Sakuraba and the adventure to find the remaining gatekeepers across the cosmos begins.

Similar to the earlier Galaxy Angel II: ~Zettairyouiki no Tobira~ game, the new adventure brims with interactive sequences, lots of conversations to view, and action-packed battle sequences that take place in outer space. Two new members are inducted into the Rune Angel Troupe in the new game: a pink-haired girl named Natsume Izayoi (she's the topmost character on the game cover) who pilots a pink Emblem Frame called the Papillon Chaser and a blonde guy named Rosel Mateus who takes control of an Emblem Frame dubbed the Holy Blood. A Tutorial Mode may be chosen from the main menu which features six lessons on playing Galaxy Angel II. While the controls or concepts aren't difficult to learn, the primer serves as a useful tool to check out the functions and basic play mechanics used in the game.

The girls of Galaxy Angel find themselves in yet another exciting adventure which spans the cosmos. Milfeulle Sakuraba serves as the leader the effervescent Galaxy Angel Squadron but players may choose any member of the Squad as a partner at the outset of the game.

Engage in galactic interaction with your new cohort and the other members of the Galaxy Angel Squad while adventuring across the Milky Way. Treat your partners well and their affinity towards you will increase which helps to enhance battle performance and team cohesiveness. Botch the relationship and the team suffers for your folly. Broccoli hired the voice actors from the animation to give life, emotion and speech to the characters and created a new animated intro especially for the game.
Galaxy Angel: Moonlit Lovers was originally released in February 2006 at full price and the BEST version is the same game except that it's a reissue with a new cover and a lower price point.
