PSP Elminage III Ankoku no Shito to Yaiyou no Kyuuden - New
NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The spirit of Wizardry wanders the wilds of the Playstation Portable with the release of Starfish's third game in the Elminage RPG series. Wizardry was a series of first-person dungeon exploration games that originated on the Apple computer in the 80s stateside but they went on to capture the imagination of Japanese gamers as well as game developers.
Elminage III is dungeon exploration game that allows players to create a character from 12 races including Human, Dwarf, Devilish, and Goblin. Once a hero's race is selected, his profession or class may be selected from 16 choices such as Fighter, Mage, Alchemist, Gladiator, Summoner, and Samurai. The player's party is made up of six heroes and a careful balance must be made between attackers, healers, and magic users. At the outset of the game, the fighters in your party should pack enough of a wallop to destroy enemies that are encountered in the dungeon and be able to survive assaults and counterattacks. Fighters should also be able to protect the priests and magic users from taking too much damage during encounters. In turn, the priest(s) should have the wherewithal to heal the fighters when they take damage. As the party spelunks further into the dungeon, more powerful monsters require stronger attacks from the fighters and the magic users should have been leveled up enough to be able to cast power magic spells to dispatch rampaging into oblivion. Elminage III features a special character portrait feature called "Style Load" which allows gamers to import artwork for their character images.

TOYS To Heart 2 Dungeon Travelers: Dancer Maryan - Preorder
«©NCSX» In the To Heart 2 Dungeon Travelers PSP game which ships in May 2011, the girls of the To Heart franchise are flung into an adventure game. One of the girls is Maryan and she's given the bunny girl treatment where she wears a skin-tight outfit along with a pair of black bunny ears. In her right hand, Maryan holds aloft a glass of bubbly and toasts the room while she carries a bottle in her left hand. Her expression appears to convey frivolity or maybe beaming enthusiasm is just part of a bunny girl's profession.
Dancer Maryan measures 19cm or 7.48" tall from the ball of her left root to the top of her pink hair. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late August 2011 at JPY6200 or US$88.90 from NCS.

PSP Classic Dungeon Fuyoku no Masoujin - New Import

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Top-viewed RPGs have been around for ages and Nippon Ichi takes a stab at creating a "classic" RPG that's obviously lifted from the age of the original Famicom. Features such as 5-channel-sounding music, plain big-pixel graphics, and beeping-booping sound effects are all in attendance along with a simple quest to conquer. Basic objectives such as chopping up monsters, gathering loot, and leveling up are also part and parcel of Classic Dungeon. Character archetypes are depicted with stylized representations and the game world is made up of dot-graphics greenery, brickwork, and woodlands.
At the outset of the game, a selection of pre-built character archetypes are available for the choosing but if they're not endearing enough, players can doodle their own heroes. The character construction function features a 13 x 13 big-pixel grid upon which the front, profile, and back of a hero is designed. Once you're pleased with how the front of the hero looks, you can rotate him to work on the back. Give him a pigtail if you wish. When exploring the world, the hero of your choosing travels alone but up to eight supporting characters can be positioned around him in the setup screen. Their portraits will appear on the upper-right corner of the screen in the cardinal directions that you've placed them in.
Reservations will ship with a bonus Classic Dungeon Original Soundtrack which contains 8-bit music that might bring back a bit of retro reverie.

Dun-Dam: Dungeons & Dam - New Import, In Stock

«©NCSX» A blade-wielding brunette named Shion and a ginger known as Vier are part of a vanguard force who destroys robots and monsters with weapons and water. At the outset of the game, the player's party performs sentry duties on three locations to protect the city walls from attacks. Close combat is used in the beginning since the dam isn't ready yet. Nanatama: Chronicles of Dungeon Maker - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» Architects are respected professionals who build towers, castles, lairs, and even dungeons. The hero in Nanatama is a professional architect whose specialty is designing dungeons. To that end, his job is to venture into the Krete Ruins and carve out a labyrinth that'll attract monsters of all stripes. The goal is to build a dungeon that's so irresistible to beasts that they'll flock to it like bees to honey and reside within its comfy confines. The architect isn't really in the business of "better-homes-for-monsters" however. Once the monsters are in residence, the architect wants to kill them, rob them of their treasures, and capture a few of them.
At the outset of the game, players are in the burg of Krete which houses a number of merchants, citizens, and appears to attract a good amount of commerce. Krete has also started to attract monsters who roam around the perimeter of town but what they really need is a home to call their own. What they need is a dungeon. One that's deep, dark, dank, and filled with places to hide. Although Krete is a walled city, there's an entrance to the ruins below which is located to the north of town. After making niceties with the shop keepers, it's time to head for the ruins which are relatively unkempt and pockmarked with crumbling structures. There's not many monsters since the dungeon isn't very appealing initially but a few creatures that look like turnips roam around the top level. Further along, an elvish girl trapped in an Orb may be rescued and added to the hero's party. She can be summoned by pressing right on the d-pad. «More»

Brandish: The Dark Revenant - New Import, Restock Soon
«©NCSX» Back in 1991, Brandish was released on the Japanese PC followed by software conversions that ran on the PC-Engine and the Super Famicom. Fast forward 18 years and PSP gamers get to relive the adventures of an armor-clad warrior named Ares who's being pursued by an avenging blonde bombshell who answers to Dela Delon. As the story goes, Ares has slain Dela's master and she's out for his blood. During her quest for revenge, Ms Delon shoots fireballs, attacks Ares, and in a strange twist of fate, even rescues her mortal enemy at one point.
At the outset of PSP Brandish, Ares is dropped inside a dungeon which is populated by treasure chests, roaming creatures, gateways, and plaques that dot the walls. Before the proper game begins however, a short tutorial commences which gives players pointers on moving around, jumping, and attacking. The mandatory tutorial is a good way to start since the controls are unconventional. When moving around the dungeon, Ares always faces forward and sidles left and right like a crab when the d-pad is pushed in either direction. To change Ares' orientation, players will have to press the "L-Trigger" or the "R-Trigger" to rotate 90° counterclockwise or clockwise respectively. Pushing the "X" button makes Ares jump which is useful for leaping over pressure-sensitive plates that trigger doors or to avoid traps. Once the novelty of the controls has worn off, Brandish is basically a dungeon crawling game that offers basic RPG elements where the hero explores, finds treasure, and kills a bunch of monsters. An auto-map feature shows off the local area on an overhead map where Ares' exploration fills it out with every nook and cranny that he wanders into. «NCS Photos»
