   Originally released in 1992, Square Enix re-releases the Dragon Quest Slime Race board game for a new generation of board game players to enjoy. 

   Players bet on five slime racers who move around the track with different speeds depending on the cards pulled which determine move count. Players who hit the first and second places in the 70-position racetrack get the prize money and those who reaches 50 points wins!

   The bettor (player) pulls a card and moves the slime the alloted spaces, so it is more exciting than a horse race where he is simply a viewer. The company dabbles a little bit more by releasing two board games based on New Super Mario Bros. The first game on offer today is called the "Crystal Maze Board Game" which ships in a large cardboard box and is suitable for children at least 4 years old and adults with a penchant for anything related to Mario gaming and frivolity.

   Anyone who's played Super Monkey Ball will take to Crystal Maze like a fish to water. By using the red joystick/lever located at the bottom of the game, players tilt the play board to move three metal marbles (one at a time) from the START area at the bottom of the board to the GOAL located at the upper left corner of the board. It's pretty challenging due to the convoluted and tight-spaced maze one has to maneuver through.

Mickey Mouse Twist Game - Preorder

«©NCSX» The Twister board game isn't something we'd agree to play voluntarily. We're more into Operation where objects are removed from a patient named Cavity Sam. Hasbro currently own the Twister toy brand but Sega Toys has a similar product on the way called Mickey Mouse Twist Game which looks like Twister except the colored spots on the mat are Mickey Mouse in silhouette. A little spinner is included which serves as the decider for where participants are supposed to plant their hands and feet in their quest to become twisted, entangled, and perhaps injured.

Dokapon Kingdom for Wii - New Import, In Stock

The fusion of the board game and the traditional RPG is complete with Sting's new Dokapon Kingdom which features elements from both genres. Players flick a spinner to determine movement range and then trudge the corresponding number of spaces on an expansive play board where a castle serves as centerpiece. Each space contains a treasure chest, an item icon, a monster encounter, or another event that is triggered upon landing on it. Treasure chests invariably contain varying amounts of gold pieces while Item spaces unveil crystals, weapons, spell books, or other objects which are useful to the enterprising adventurer. Enemy encounters are simple affairs where two combatants stand facing each other and dole out attacks or magic with single button presses.

Since RPGs commonly use the mechanic of leveling up and character attributes to determine the abilities of a hero, Dokapon Kingdom stays true to convention and utilizes experience points to serve as the basis for a character's level and capabilities. In addition to contending against the monsters on the board, the other players in the game also serve as opposition by casting deleterious spells against each other.

The second game on offer today is called "Gura Gura Game" (Shaky Game) which is suitable for children at least 3 years old.

Gura Gura may be played in two different ways - the first method is to build a wobbly tower by snapping together the parts included inside the package. Once built, up to four players may place a little Mario character figure on the different levels of the tower. The trick is to place the figures so that they maintain the balance of the tower without toppling it over.
