 «©NCSX» Capcom is accepting preorders for a trio of Monster Hunter-themed coin cases which hold pennies, nickels and quarters within their rubber confines. Each case is attached to a little tab which may be linked to a keychain, ring, or other loop on your person. Three styles are available for preorder as follows:

«©NCSX» If you're the type of person who secrets valuables and baubles in small containers, the upcoming Monster Hunter Airu and Meraru storage pouches might come in handy.

   In our estimation, no self-respecting thief would look for a 4-carat diamond inside a toy that looks like Airu or Meraru. The thief is trained to think like a thief. He thinks that valuables should be hidden inside secure vaults or intricate devices that require at least three hours of hacking and bypassing. That's why NCS advocates the concept of "hide in plain sight." Throw a US$40,000 diamond wedding ring inside Airu and leave it right on top of the dining room table. A master thief would look at it and assume it's just a cheap $1.25 plastic toy from China while he heads for the vault which contains about $3.76 in loose change. «©NCSX» Hori's Airu Pouch was released in Japan last month and it sold well. We're guessing Hori didn't expect the pouch to sell that well and they've already sold out. To make sure everyone who wants an Airu Pouch is going to get one, a new production has been announced which is expected to ship in early December.

   The Airu Pouch is shaped like a taco shell... if taco shells had ears. The countenance of a wide-eyed Airu is plastered on the front of the pouch which is powerful branding. Well, to Monster Hunter players at least. Anyone else in the general population will look at the pouch and think it's a promotional item for a cat food company. The pouch is designed to hold any version of the PSP handheld and preorders are welcome to ship in December 2010 at JPY2000 or US$25.90 from NCS.

«©NCSX» With Capcom's Monster Hunter as popular as it is, perhaps it's surprising that a spin-off hasn't shipped to market earlier. The Airu (cats) of the Monster Hunter games are the stars in the newly released Monster Hunter Nikki Poka Pika Airu Mura PSP action-adventure which is centered around Airu Village. The versatile cats live their lives in the village where farming, hunting, mining, and cooking are daily routines. Since Airu Village is situated on an island, the bodies of water surrounding the village are ripe with fish to be fetched out of the drink. The Pugi creatures from the Monster Hunter canon also appear in the game to provide companionship and interaction.

   In the Airu Guild, adventurers may curry assignments for earnings and every contribution by the feline residents leads to expansion of the village. Guild quests can be either exploration jaunts or collection exercises where the party of Airu work towards enhancing the village. When exploring, monsters are inevitably encountered and the group of Airu attack as one cohesive unit to deal as much damage as possible within a short amount of time. Airu Village supports multi-player gaming where up to three gamers can cooperate on Guild quests. Players who have the PSP version of Monster Hunter 2nd G can convert save-data from the game for use in Airu Village. As a bit of bonus content, Hello Kitty appears in the village in the form of costumes that may be worn by the Airu. The first production of the game includes a special code which gives gamers the chance to enter a drawing to win a special Airu or Hello Kitty plush toy or a phone strap.

«©NCSX» Little Miss Muffet. Sat on a tuffet. That didn't look anything like the Monster Hunter low stools that were announced by Banpresto on Sunday night. Each Monster Hunter tuffet measures 18cm or 7.08" tall and is made of plushy material. The ears are a little out of place for a seat but whatever. Preorders ship in January 2010 at US$20.90 each.

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G Airu DX - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» The heroic hunters in Capcom's Monster Hunter series of games get all the glory but it's the cats that are the backbone of the adventure. They're the helpers who get things done such as the cooking, the lifting, and the occasional slashing as a combat partner. When faced with a monster, a cat can also distract the creature so that the hero can zoom in for the kill.
Japanese manufacturer Takara has started preorders for two cat characters from the Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G game as follows:

» Merarou - A feline helper who carries a staff with a tooth on top
» Airou - This kitty carries a massive paw mounted on a stick

Each cat is non-scale and measures 15cm or 5.90" in height. The figures are pre-painted and fully assembled for immediate display. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late February 2009 at JPY4800 or US$53.90.

Monster Hunter Airu Kitchen: Steel Mug - New, In Stock

In Capcom's Monster Hunter game, the Airu (Cats) may be recruited into your party as cooks, questing companions, or farmers. Cospa's Monster Hunter Stainless Steel Mug enforces the Airu kitchen theme where a cat wearing a chef's hat may be seen with a knife and a fork on either side of its head. In some cultures, such a display might be interpreted as the cat being a good meal. Maybe feline au gratin with a side order of chickpeas. Note to cat lovers: You know we're joshing, right? Please hold the firebombs.

In any case, Cospa's Monster Hunter Airu Mug was released earlier this year but the company sold out quickly. Another production arrived last week and all preorders have shipped already. New orders are welcome.
