Hanzo, Fuuma, Rasputin, and the rest of the World Heroes gang have been around for a long time. The original game bowed in Japanese arcades on July 28, 1992 and joined the flood of fighting games that were making their way to market at the time. While not wildly successful, SNK drove the World Heroes brand to four incarnations before the final game - World Heroes Perfect - was released on May 25, 1995. The four games:
World Heroes / Originally released on July 28, 1992
World Heroes 2 / Originally released on April 26, 1993
World Heroes 2 Jet / Originally released on April 26, 1994
World Heroes Perfect / Originally released on May 25, 1995
Twelve years after WHP thrilled dedicated fans with its motley assortment of characters, SNK Playmore collects all four World Heroes and stamps them onto a single DVD. In addition to the original games, SNK also adds a Death Match Mode to the first two World Heroes releases and allows players to challenge each other on the Multi-Matching BB Service. Similar to previous Neo Geo Online collections, a character color edit function is a standard feature where any fighter's color scheme may be changed according to your whim. Finally, the soundtracks for the four games may be toggled from the default Standard to Arrange versions.
