Skygirls Vic Viper Anime Version - Preorder

The Skygirls are a quartet of youngish looking moppets who pilot mechs. Those two ingredients alone will allow them to take over the entirety of Japan. But we don't care about that right now. What perked our ears was Atelier Sai's recent announcement about doing the Vic Viper (of Gradius fame) in the sky blue and white color scheme of the Skygirls.
Proportioned at 1/60 scale, the stylish Vic Viper toy measures 20cm (7.87") in length and features exacting details and clean lines for an attractive starship that'll look good on any shmup fan's mantle. We plan on hanging ours from the rafters. Preorders ship in mid-late December 2007.

Macross Zero SV-51 New Nora Type - Preorder

Yamato showed off the Macross Zero SV-51 D.D. Ivanov earlier this summer at the Wonder Festival show and we were enamored with the sleek design and intricate body details. Macross fighters tend to look bulky especially when fitted with Super Pack Parts but the SV-51 was razor-sharp-slim in all three modes - fighter jet, gerwalk, and robot forms. The drab-gray color scheme of the original SV-51 appears dreary but that's D.D. Ivanov for you.

Yamato has started preorders for a SV-51 variant which sports a Nora type color scheme which is a deep purple hue with gold-colored slashes of color on the wings and stabilizers. The toy is set at 1/60 scale and measures 38cm or 14.96" long in jet fighter mode. Similar to the D.D. Ivanov version, the overwing boosters are included as standard accessories. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late January 2008 at JPY22,000 or US$220 from NCS.

Sesame Street Candle - Preorder

Whenever we're in the market for a candle, we'll send a minion down to the local bodega where a selection of scented candles housed in mason jars may be purchased. Then there are the religious candles with images of Jesus etched on the outside of the glass cylinders. However, there are no Sesame Street candles.

Japanese manufacturer Ensky fills the need for candles featuring Sesame Street characters this winter with a blue Cookie Monster candle and a red Elmo candle. Both candles appear to be poured into carnival fish bowls so after you're done burning the candle, fill it with water and drop a goldfish. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late November 2007.

Clamp in 3D Land Vol. 5 - Preorder

Movic has started preorders for the fifth collection of chibi-sized figures based on popular Clamp properties. The characters in the set are:

Dobutsu Oneechan Yama Neko Special Edition - Preorder

Sculptor Kouichi Yamazaki aka Tandem Twin revisits his Yama Neko (Lynx Ruby) figure from 2006 but instead of a repaint or bigger boobs, the new production of the toy includes two additional accessories as follows:

» A crimson eyepatch which locks into place over Ruby's left eye and makes her look like an alien creature from the distant world of Swampman.

» A jagged sword with the kind of teeth that would rip chunks out of hapless flesh as well as toughened hides.

Yama Neko is sized to 1/6 scale and measures 20cm or 7.87" tall from top to bottom. As an added bonus for those who appreciate a pendulous bosom, the swordswoman's flimsy garb may be cast aside for a full frontal view. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late January 2008.

Disney Fantasia Limited Edition Wristwatch - Preorder

Preorders are welcome for a limited edition (1000 units only) Fantasia wristwatch which celebrates the groundbreaking Disney movie from 1942. The center of the watch features Mickey in his Sorcerer's Apprentice incarnation and two glow-in-the-dark hands tell the time. Pressing a button activates lights which illuminate the face with eerie light. Five bezels are included and every watch is packaged in a little chest along with a certificate of authenticity. Preorders.

Winnie the Pooh Limited Edition Wristwatch - Preorder

Celebrate 80 years of Pooh with one of Disney's limited edition (1000 units only) watches which commemorate the honey-golden bear. Two variants are on offer: a golden Pooh watch (to the left) and a platinum Pooh version (on the right). The preorder solicitation mentions a stainless steel band, a water proof watch, and two natural diamonds on the face. Preorders are welcome.
