«©NCSX» Medicom kicks off the Kubrick Star Wars DX Series 1 this summer with a brand spanking new set of six Star Wars figures inspired by the events in the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi motion picture. The six standard figures are as follows:

» Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight - Wears a gray smock and black shirt
» C-3PO & Salacious B. Crumb - Salacious rides on C-3PO's shoulder
» R2-D2 (Jabba's Barge) - The droid serves drinks to Jabba's crew
» Chewbacca (Boushh's Prisoner) - Wookiee engages in a ruse
» Amanaman - Sunflower-colored bounty hunter with blue trim
» Bib Fortuna - Jabba's cunning and ruthless attendant

Extra parts are included inside each figure which allows toy fans to create the hulking bulk of Jabba the Hutt. The slug-like form of Jabba rests on a slab of segmented PVC and a hookah pipe sits to his side. Medicom will include a pop-up cardboard display which is designed to look like Jabba's palace in each Master Carton of 4 factory cases. Desirable chase figures are also expected to be dispersed randomly inside each Master Carton.

Preorder pricing is set at JPY15,360 per factory case of 12 figures which is about US$172 based on this morning's JPY/USD exchange rate. NCS is accepting reservations at US$175.90 per box of 12 figures. Please note our price takes into account overnight shipping rates from Japan since we'd like to get these into the States as quickly as possible once they're released.

«©NCSX» Layton and Luke can solve puzzles like Sherlock and Watson but in the upcoming Professor Layton Face Cushion product from Omron, the two sleuths serve a higher purpose - furniture. For individuals who have no qualms about sitting on someone's face, the Professor Layton cushions provide a wide berth upon which to rest one's posterior. The Luke cushion measures 40cm (15.74") in length but the Layton cushion spans 55cm (21.65") long which is enough to accommodate two slim sitters or one robust big'un. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late April 2010 at $39.90 for Luke and $46.90 for Layton.

TOYS Professor Layton Plush Toys - New Import

«©NCSX» Sanei hit it big with the Pikmin and Mario plushes and they're sticking with Nintendo for their next big thing. Five Professor Layton plushes arrived yesterday including a small-size Luke keychain plush which measures 4cm (1.57") at JPY700 (US$10.90) and a medium-size Professor Layton plush which measures 35cm (13.77") tall at JPY2200 (US$25.90). Please note the sizes of the plushes are larger than what Sanei originally listed on their solicitation a couple of months ago but the correct measurements of each plush are listed below. Preorders have shipped as of yesterday and new orders are welcome. If we sell out in the next few days, please note the next batch is not expected until after Christmas. Sorry.

TOYS Professor Layton FuruFuru Figure - Japan Preorder

«©NCSX» When December 19 rolls around, cinema goers in Japan will have the option of viewing Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva which is a new movie featuring a brand new Layton adventure. The good professor and his friend Luke help an opera singer solve a mystery concerning age regression and immortality.

Toy manufacturer Dive gets in on the buzz surrounding the upcoming film by announcing a pair of "FuruFuru" figures which feature bobbing heads. The Layton figure measures 13cm in height while Luke is slightly smaller in stature at 12cm. Preorders are welcome to ship in January 2010 at JPY2000 or US$28.90 from NCS.
