«©NCSX» Banpresto has long had a license to manufacture Pokemon plushes for the Japanese market. The company takes advantage of the release of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver on the Nintendo DS by announcing a new set of plushes that measure 14cm or 5.51" tall and feature the following beasts:

» Houou - Big orange bird who's the cover monster for HeartGold
» Lugia - Odd looking minger on the cover of SoulSilver
» Chicorita - Green-colored creature with a leafy pate and red eyes
» Hinoarashi - Rodent with a snout and a flame on its posterior
» Waninoko - Blue croc-looking monster with eight teeth

The latter three Pokemon are the default starter monsters for a number of Pokemon games including HeartGold and SoulSilver. Each fixed-pose plush is covered with silky soft fur and four of them are able to stand on their own without any support. Only Houou requires a prop in order to stand upright without tipping over. «©NCSX» Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were stellar sellers a few years back when they were released on the Gameboy Color. NCS recalls the reams of invoices we printed and prepared. Since remakes are all the rage nowadays, Nintendo rehashes both Pokemon games and throws in a little handheld pedometer called the PokéWalker which is designed to look like a little Pokéball. The PokeWalker transfers monster data to/from the Nintendo DS via infrared signal. The inclusion of the bonus device is a value added proposition which is intended to motivate buyers.

Upon powering up the game, a short cinema introduces players to the two new protagonists, a few familiar Pokemon, and the sinister squad of antagonists in the game. The title screen features the elegant form of a Houou as it flaps its wings and flies high above the clouds. «Shots»
