 «©NCSX» When Domokun makes a mess preparing his favorite meal of beef and spuds, a sponge might come in handy to mop up the splatters. To this end, Japanese manufacturer Eikoh unleashes three absorbent sponges that could double as bathing accessories or plain old plushes. Each sponge measures 10cm or roughly 4" square. From the top of the photo and going clockwise, the characters are: Domokun, Usaji, and Ta-chan. Preorders ship today and new orders are welcome.
 
    The Domokun sponges are really designed for use during bathing or showering. The slightly abrasive outer covering provides just the right about of friction and roughness to brush away dead skin cells, scar tissue, and other things that might be on your body after a tough day at the office. The size is also perfect for grasping in one's paw while washing up. After you're done, the loop on the top of each sponge may be hung on a hook and left to dry.

TOYS Domokun Osushi Big Plush Doll - Import Preorder $36.90

Product Synopsis
    Domokun normally noshes on beef and potato stew but instead of becoming a soupy concoction, Japanese toy manufacturer Furyu turns him into a pair of pieces of sushi - tuna (maguro) and egg (tamago) - plush toys. The plushes measure an impressive 35cm or 13.77" tall and Domo takes on the color of rice.

Product Synopsis
   The normally brown monster known as Domokun gets two new patinas in Furyu's upcoming Domokun Metallic Big Plush which is available in silver and gold variants which add some sheen to the big galoot. The new Domokun plush toys measure 35cm or 13.77" tall and may be used as pillows, cushions, paperweights, and perhaps sitting stools.

   Preorders are welcome to ship in late April 2015. Due to the large size of this item, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the United States. Any air service will incur onerous carriage charges.

   Japanese manufacturer Furyu presents a pair of Domokun Big Plush dolls which measure 40cm or 15.74" in height and are available in regulation-issue brown or cherry red. The red Domokun is so red that his mouth blends in with his hide for a blaze of crimson that will only set hearts afire.

TOY CapsuleQ Characters: Domokun Mascot Strap - Import Preorder

    A gang of miniature Domokun are headed to the Japanese marketplace next year, courtesy of Kaiyodo, as part of the company's CapsuleQ Characters lineup of gashapon which is noramlly sold through turn-of-the-knob dispensers for JPY300 each. Each Domokun character measures 4.5cm or 1.77" tall and is affixed with a strap for tethering purposes. Reservations for the complete set of eight are welcome to ship in April 2014.

TOYS Domokun Daiwa Drama Ryoma Den - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» The beloved brown-colored beast dubbed Domokun is an adaptable fellow. He's been cloaked in samurai garb, winter sports outfits, and assorted other raiment which show his versatile nature. NCS was hoping the next clothing theme for Domokun would be "soup kitchen staff" or "plumbers association members" but Eikoh sees a different direction for the NHK superstar - television drama "Ryoma Den" cast member.

Each Domokun Ryoma Den plush measures 9cm or 3.54" tall and is dressed in the garb of the Bakumatsu period of Japan's history. Preorders are welcome for the complete set of four Domokun plushes which ship in in mid-late July 2010 at US$23.90.

«©NCSX» When Domokun started out his little cottage- industry-career, he was beloved by many stateside fans even though he only appeared on Japanese television. You can thank the magic of the internet and streaming video for his early fame. Back then, Domokun products were gobbled up by crazed passionate buyers who all wanted a little piece of the lovable brown monster. Sorta reminds us of the power of Sackboy. As the years passed and Domokun grew older, NCS noticed that consumer apathy had crept in as the volumes of Domokun products increased.

Domokun's brand had been diluted. Brown got watered down.

Eikoh's been one perpetrator of Domo's brand dilution and they perpetrate some more with a new collection of Domokun Straps. On the upper left portion of the top photo, Domokun portrays an afro-wearing maracas shaker but he changes to what we can only describe as a Buster on the upper-right corner of the photo. The other personas are a hand-fan-wielder and a sword-handler who appears droopy-eyed and unsteady. Preorders for the set of four Domokun Mascot Straps are welcome to ship in March 2010.

©NCSX» A few years ago, NCS' opinion on Domokun wasn't positive. In our eyes, he was a ne'er-do-well who ate a lot, didn't have gainful employment, and had a disturbing problem with flatulence. Over the years however, we watched Domokun grow up and engage in winter sporting events, protect Japan in the capacity of a samurai, and even clean up like a champ. That's some serious versatility and Domokun shows us again later this year why he's Mr. Versatile.

Eikoh's upcoming Domokun Aki Mascot toys feature big brown as an (from the upper left of the photo and rolling clockwise) Artist, a Relay Runner, a sleepy Reader, and a greedy Eater. Somehow it doesn't strike us as odd that Domokun gets sleepy when he's holding a book. The plush toys measure 9cm or roughly 3.54" tall and are topped with straps for tethering purposes. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late October 2009.

NCS Preorder Offer
Preorders are welcome to ship in September 2009 at US$70.90 per Domo. The jumbo Domo-kun measures 42cm or roughly 16.50" in height and appears to be somewhat misshapen based on the manufacturer's product photo. NCS sold a bunch of perfectly shaped Domo-kun plushes from Japan a few years ago in three different sizes. That was a time when the brown beast wasn't as global as he is now but those toys were priced at about thrice what the domestic Domo toys will be retailing for.

Domokun Diecut Cushion - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Domokun's a pop culture phenomenon who's still going strong after fairly decent saturation in the Japanese and most recently, the American toy market. We're thinking 2009 will be another good year for Domokun since everyone needs a toothy monster in their lives.

Eikoh's die-cut Domokun cushion measures a fairly large 17.71" in height and roughly 12" in length. Two varieties on offer: A Domokun cushion which raises its right paw and is bright eyed and a variant Domokun cushion which seems to be sleepy with half-closed eyelids. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2009 at US$30.90 per cushion.

Domokun Petit Mascot Strap - New Import, In Stock

Eikoh unleashes a quartet of furry Domokun plushes which are topped with straps for tethering purposes. One of the Domokun monsters is lying on its side and we imagine it to be drowsily watching bad television in Usaji's living room. The three upright Domokuns measure 9cm or 3.54" tall while the lazy one is half that height. We figured that out all by ourselves. Preorders have shipped as of yesterday and new orders are welcome at US$21.90 for the complete set of four as shown in the product photo to the left. Usagi Plush - Clearance

Domokun's partner in crime is a bespectacled rabbit named Usagi who lends guidance and companionship to the brown-hued brute. About 7 years ago, Bandai released a Usagi plush which measures 8" in height with 1/3 of that height represented by its ears. Since we're closing in on holding the stock for nearly a decade, we might as well try to shift Usagi from our warehouse to customers' homes.

Domokun Sports Suruzo Plush - Preorder

When sizing up Domokun in a competitive event, our first inclination is to avoid the teeth. Other than those jagged pieces of ivory however, Domokun doesn't look like he's much of a threat.

Eikoh hopes to change this perception with the upcoming Domokun Sports Suruzo Plush toys where Big Brown dons assorted athletic garb and attempts to look sporty. Domokun wears swim trunks and wraps goggles around his forehead in one Sports Suruzo plush and in another, the beast throws on a natty karate outfit. Each plush measures 18cm or 7.08" in height and preorders are welcome to ship in late May 2008.
