Befriending Pokémon
When you defeat one of the wild Pokémon you meet in a stage, it sometimes becomes your friend. The Pokémon you befriended will be able to battle right away if you switch from the Pokémon you’re controlling to the new Pokémon. Even for Pokémon of the same species, each Pokémon has its own individual Power and moves, so examine them carefully to decide which will be your favorite Pokémon.
