Start
the game and players may choose Mickey or Donald
as the protagonist. The game begins inside a
quaint village where little creatures and
scarecrows scurry about. Grab blocks and loose
them upon oncoming danger or jump on wee
beasties to knock them silly and grab them to
use as projectiles. The control is quite good
and reminiscent of Magical Quests and Castle of
Illusion games from the past. An end-level boss
guards each stage and the first bruiser is a
chicken who launches feathers and does a rush
attack.
Players who have encountered all three Magical
Quest games will noticed that Capcom has not
upgraded the engine since 1992 and the play
mechanics are identical in each game. One
might surmise that a "Magical Quest
Construction Kit" exists somewhere in Capcom's
development studios where platformers starring
Mickey and the Disney gang may be churned out
with consistent regularity if the market
demanded it.
