«©NCSX» The Korean version of Maple Story DS was released last year and the game gets localized for the Japanese market this week. Maple Story is a wildly popular online MMORPG originally released for the Korean market in 2003 and then to the rest of the world. The game has been played by over 100 million gamers around the world. Unlike World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XI which feature 3D worlds, Maple Story plies the 2D side-scrolling platform trade where heroes explore and attack enemies on flat plane.
The Nintendo DS conversion of the game plays like the PC version and at the outset of the adventure, players may choose to be a thief or a warrior but a two other character classes - Magician and Bowman - are in silhouette and not selectable... yet. Updates in Maple Story DS include an original story and the ability to play a mini-game that interfaces with the proper Maple Story online MMORPG. Japanese title: メイプルストーリーＤＳ
