 NEWS Playstation Vita Preorders

NCS Synopsis
«©NCSX» Retail vendors started preorders for Playstation Vita in Japan over the weekend but distributors haven't started their own reservations for the hardware yet. They did start preorders for the Vita launch software lineup on Friday evening so we submitted our preliminary numbers for those. For everyone waiting for word on the Vita hardware, we expect preorders for the hardware to start in the next few days.

NCS doesn't expect shortages of the hardware at launch since inventory is always available for export at higher prices from Japanese suppliers so anyone who wants a Vita and is willing to pay the higher prices can get one. It's been like that since the days of the original Playstation when games like Toshinden and Ridge Racer were in demand and it's the same now. When the Playstation 3 was launched in Japan in late 2006, retail shops in Japan sold out fairly quickly but the export channel was brimming with inventory. Repeat: brimming.

At that price I can expect it to brim for some time!
