Nintendo's next video game console will be called the "Wii U" which features a controller that's fitted with a 6.2" touchscreen as shown in the photo to the left. The Wii U is slated for release between April - December 2012 but hardware costs were not announced by Nintendo. The Wii U will be the first Nintendo gaming console to output HD graphics.

It is quite unusual to state that the controller won’t be sold separately. There is still a fair bit of time before it comes out so they could change their mind by that time and I have heard that they are looking into the possibility of using 2 controllers in a game. I would bet that by the time it is available you will be able to buy the controllers separately.
