Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosey Rupeeland [Preorder]

When the Japanese version of Tingle was released last year, NCS received some common questions. Yes, it was really an official Nintendo game and no, we did not Photoshop the game cover. We also assumed that there was no way Tingle would ever make it out of Japan.

We were wrong.

Preorders are now welcome for the European version of Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosey Rupeeland which will be released on September 13, 2007. The game will feature a multi-language option which includes English.

The impish Tingle is a rupee collecting jester who travels around the land collecting coin. Light-footed and blessed with a joyful disposition, Tingle evokes feelings of revulsion love and appreciation from all who witness his greedy antics. In the NDS game, Tingle roams around the world collecting rupees in a bid to elevate a tower to the heavens...

Real Action Heroes Venom-Punisher

In the What If? Vol. 2 #44 comic book from Marvel, the question asked was, "What if... Venom had possessed the Punisher?" Inside the pages of the comic, the alien symbiote abandons Spider-Man and merges with Frank Castle aka The Punisher. With newfound powers, the Punisher redoubles his efforts against the criminal underworld with a savage campaign against super-powered thugs and bosses. The Venom-Punisher's rampage eventually leads him into an all-out assault against Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Moon Knight.

Medicom has started preorders for a Real Action Heroes figure which asks the same question as the What It? comic book and depicts Venom encasing the Punisher. A weapon is affixed to Venom's back and a holster is lashed across its chest. A stylized rendition of the Punisher's skull logo appears on the figure's chest area. Ominous.

Preorders are welcome to ship in December 2007 at JPY17000 or US$165 from NCS. Due to the size of Real Action Heroes figures, NCS recommends only shipping by way of UPS Ground to avoid onerous air shipping costs incurred with any UPS air service.

Roen Super Large Scale Guitar Mickey

Medicom has started preorders for a limited edition large version of their Roen Meets Mickey: Guitar Mickey vinyl figure which is scheduled to ship in February 2008. Hiromu Takahara (Roen) provides the sculpt where Mickey's about to completely crush a guitar onto the pavement. The figure measures 50cm or 19.68" tall and will ship from the manufacturer in a retail cardboard box that's packaged into a dedicated cardboard shipping container. Only 2000 pieces total will be produced. Pricing is set at JPY28,000 or US$250 from NCS. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late February 2008 (estimated ship date due to transit times from Japan).

Official Nintendo Cassette Cases

New official Nintendo replacement cassette cases for storing Famicom cartridges. Each case includes a label strip which may be written on and then affixed to the side. These are about 20 years old but they're in perfect condition although we did find one case which had a little desiccated mealworm in it. We were going to take close-up photos of the worm but someone with a smidgeon of common sense suggested that it might traumatize our visitors and potentially affect our efforts to actually sell this stuff. We have a large quantity of these in our inventory and we're bundling them in sets of three (pink, blue, and yellow) for US$6. We will automatically ship this item with USPS Media Mail at a flat rate of $2.60.

Hori Twin Adapter

The original Famicom's boxy controllers were hard-wired to the console which made using joysticks impossible. Unless you had one of Hori's Twin Adapters which plugged into the expansion port in the front of the console. Once inserted, two controller slots became available for use with ASCII joysticks, third party joypads, and other controllers.

The inventory is new but the packaging is a little weathered. The Twin Adapters may also be dusty - at least the one we took photographs of had specks of dust on it. Hori Wire Reel

Hori's been around for a long time, creating all sorts accessories for the gaming consoles of the day. Back in the heyday of the original 8-bit Famicom, Hori created something called the "Famicom Wire Reel" which was basically an extender for the Famicom AC plug and the A/V cable.

Pull out the two 3' cables from the UFO-shaped housing and plug them into the back of the Famicom. Next, plug an AV cable from the television to the corresponding port on the top of the Wire Reel followed by the AC adapter cord. Done. Composite A/V Cable for PC-Engine

The PC-Engine was released in a time when video standards were less stringent than they are today. It was a time way before the arrival of gold-plated Monster Cables and the choice of video connections were as follows: RF-Adapter or Composite AV. Take it or leave it. NCS digs deep into the late 80s portion of our warehouse and unearths a couple of boxes of official NEC composite AV cables for the PC-Engine. The stock is new but the boxes may be slightly weathered after two decades in storage. Pricing is set at US$25 each and we'll ship via Priority Mail for US$5.
